Default Why does the media keep saying Eli is elite?

12/8 TD/INT ratio. 62% cmp. 89 rating. Far from elite status.

Have you even watched a Giants game in the last 2 years? It's not all about base statistics.

It's not all about the stats. Look at the comebacks he has made this year. He's clutch.

Two Super Bowl wins and in those two SB runs they only had one home game and won the rest of the games on the road

Because of his 4th quarter performance and his two Super Bowl wins. I have a hard time saying he is among the best as well. I just think he has a horseshoe up his you know what.

Two Super Bowl Rings puts a QB in a pretty elite class.

I'm more inclined to think he has a lot of luck on his side.

Because when the Giants add a "TE", then he'll be the man

You were probably a pretty big Philip Rivers fan at one point.

Which is probably why I should've drafted his brother Peyton in my fantasy draft instead of Eli (although it was tough to get over the supposed will he ever be 100% again stuff with Peyton).

If you go by statistics he's been outperformed by guys like Josh Freeman, Andy Dalton and Ryan Fitzpatrick this year but please don't suggest they are "better" than Eli.

Everytime I hear that Eli is elite. I think of the game vs the Vikings a few years back. I dont like Eli and dont think he is elite. I do think he is clutch though which makes a QB elite I guess. It doesnt hurt that he has a pretty solid defense either.

If you could have one one guy to win a Superbowl, would you pick Eli over Rodgers, Brady, or Peyton? No way in hell, especially a guy who is 12/8 for the year.

The most important stat is Win or loss.

Eli has beat Brady twice in the Super Bowl.

I would because he has beaten Brady twice.

He beat Brady twice because of two lucky throws with two receivers who had no business catching the ball. The tyree catch and the maningham catch were supremely lucky and those somehow define Eli as great. I agree he's better than most, but he's way too inconsistent.

I wouldn't necessarily say Giants won because of Eli, but more of Patriots D failure to stop a score and not to forget a bit of miracle catches by the Giants.

I'm a huge Giants fan and as far as I'm concerned, I LOVE it when people keep underestimating Eli. There is not a single QB in the league I'd take over him. He wins games and is without question the most clutch QB in the game.
And yeah, he has two rings

Haha wow...way to give a guy no credit at all. I do recall Eli having to get away from a pass rush before making that throw to Tyree.

Eli is one of the Best playing right now and is right there on the line for Elite status. His comeback capability is really great to watch!

As a Patriots fan, right now on this day, you can make a case for any of the 4.

I would say Rodgers all so slightly, flip a coin for Eli or Brady with Peyton 4th.

He makes few mistakes.
