Doug Martin Price Jack Up...

Here we go again...
started with Ogletree beginning the season, then Andre Brown had a couple good weeks and the forums blew up with threads of ridiculous prices on their cards.
Well Doug Martin is "the man" now
I have been trying to bring something in of his for a couple months now and my inventory was a little shallow for him
now that i started bringing better stuff in looks like i am never getting one
cards that were 20 bucks 2 hours ago are now being asked for 50 bucks...
thats my stand on this
feel free to give me your feelings on this

Sucks to be you!

yankeesfan24 11-04-2012 07:49 PM

It sucks, but it is how the hobby works. Same thing happened last year with DeMarco

MikeWilliamsFan 11-04-2012 07:49 PM

hes got me like 80 fantasy points in the last two weeks, that's how the card market works i guess

hotbox 11-04-2012 07:50 PM

Remember when you could get a Jeremy Lin auto for $3 one day, then one week later, that same card was at $180? It's crazy, but it's just the way it is

Didn't want to use the same one twice. You are correct, it is better!

oh same here loving the fantasy points

Agreed lol

You really can't complain about this, his emergence has been pretty legit. He has been putting up better and better number over the weeks and was expected to eventually be a quality feature NFL running back. Brown and Ogeltree were one-hit wonders everyone knew they weren't destined for anything long-term. This might be Martin fulfilling his potential.

If you're mad about this you have to get mad every time a young guy starts getting good.

Ray27Ray52 11-04-2012 08:11 PM

This is simply Capitalism 101. Buy low and sell high. Makes the world go round.

Sauceman 11-04-2012 08:12 PM

You are not comparing Martin to the flukes Ogletree and Brown??

you mean the world who's economy is in the sh1tter right now?

Qwasian 11-04-2012 08:13 PM

doug martin was dirt cheap 2 weeks ago, he had a great game spiked a bit, and then could be had cheap all week again, you really have no one to blame but yourself if you missed buying his cards, they were definately for sale and cheap. why would you log on directly after he rushed for 250 yards and try to buy? it's only been 2 times this entire season that his cards went for premium prices. other than that they were cheap the whole season.

Ray27Ray52 11-04-2012 08:13 PM
you mean the world who's economy is in the sh1tter right now?
That is correct. Doesn't change the principle.

one game.... wtf u talkin about one game... hes been a #1 RB all year from the first snap of the season. He's a stud..... probably having the best overall year.

mnava18 11-04-2012 08:16 PM

lol had my martin up for 89$ for like am month now. never thought it would sell for 89 , as i just through a random number up there , so i can field offers. then somone hits the bin about 10 mins ago. i love life lol. but i kinda wanted to keep the card lol , didnt expect somone to hit the bin. bitter sweet lol

wheeler281 11-04-2012 08:19 PM

rule of thumb never by into a rookie til the off season. PERIOD. There will always be guys trying to Roethlisberger somebody after "A" game

Sauceman 11-04-2012 08:25 PM

Why are people talking about this guy like he had 1 lucky game?? If you watch football at all, it is clear that Martin is explosive. Of course it has been a small sample size, and I'm not crowning him the second coming, but he is no one week flash in the pan.

im sure you can get a lower end one and pocket the rest

Razorsharp79 11-04-2012 08:29 PM

That is two weeks in a row, BEST RB in the NFL RIGHT NOW...he has put 107 points in FF in two weeks in our league. The guy is not a fluke...however, I could be bias, but the #s are solid

YAY ME
