Default Question for those who buy retail at release

For those of you that buy retail at release how well do you usually do on selling everything? Close to even? profit?

I know it depends on if you get lucky or not but just for the average retail break how close do you get to what you spent?

Buying all past and present Braves (in a Braves Uniform or in their system when the card was made). Also, looking for Falcons and UGA & GT Football Alumni (A.J. Green, Calvin Johnson, Matt Stafford, etc) COMC account 800+ cards lowest prices on the site.

I usually just grab retail to see how i like the product before buying more but when i buy it when it releases I have had ok luck pulling an auto here and there but mostly relics the only time i got skunked was on 2012 topps baseball series one bought all the racks and didnt pull anything really but I would say other than that i have had good luck. Hope this helps and if you go and buy any items when it releases I wish you good luck

yep, i grab retail so i can have live pics for presales and listings
hardly break even on it except for maybe chrome and others that have exclusive color refractors or bonus refractors in rack packs, then it does well and you can make some $ if first day or two
but don't expect big hits (although they are there, just tough) I know I opened $450 of chrome fb retail yesterday and no auto and opened $600 of update baseball and no autos, so they are usually much tougher on odds, but exclusive cards help make up for it

plus retail can run more than hobby box prices often
