Big time financial windfall from this - and definitely opens up the Atlantic seaboard to some new recruiting options for the big boys.

I like it overall.

Good luck. Maryland hasn't been relevant in football in my lifetime. They used to run out some top notch basketball squads under Gary Williams. But lately they're among the most incompetent athletic departments in the country and being ran by Under Armor essentially.

Did the Terps leave the ACC? I read yesterday they were considering it. The $50 million exit fee is a rough one. Only Maryland and FSU voted against it over the summer. I really thought FSU and Miami were jumping to the SEC, then to the Big 12 (or whatever it is called). I hope some of the rich boosters pony up the money and jump to the SEC.

Estimates (all over the place as usual) have said $100 million or more in additional Big-10 network subscribers between the NYC and DC markets - that's all the big time teams care about - they want that revenue stream.

Maryland is thinking they can negotiate the $50 mil down somehow..I guess I just attended my final MD/FSU game Saturday at College Park.

UA guy is gonna write a check for whatever they negotiate the exit fee down to and the difference between that and $50m prolly goes to the athletic department. They need it; they've cut program after program lately.

Yep the Super Confrences are forming and it looks like the Big East and ACC are the ones getting gutted....I wonder if Maryland and Rutgers heard something we dont know about and thats why they are leaving now cause 50 Mil is a pretty big fee....

Football won't be pretty for the Terps, but I would watch out in Basketball. Maryland is going to be really good this year and for years to come under Turgen
