I don't think anybody is arguing otherwise, nor does the meaningless bowl game each school gets into change that.

Lol, just pointing out the only meaning to an otherwise meaningless game. More of a football nihilist, I guess.

A few points:

On Northern Illinois-
I'm pretty sure most of us would of said the same thing about Boise when they took on Oklahoma a few years back. You just never know when they put different style teams against each other.
Also Iowa is not the worst Big Ten team. I'm pretty sure Illinois and Indiana would take that crown.
Speaking on the Little Ten-
That Conference stunk this year. One division winner was a team that can't stop anyone. The other division winner was Thee Ohio State University(stuck up much) who played nobody of any substance but a Michigan team that was absolutely dominated by the two national championship teams. O and can't forget an average Wisconsin team and a Penn State team that lost to Ohio and Virginia teams before getting to their lame Little Ten schedule.

It doesnt matter if Northern Illinois wins or not, they do not deserve to be there based on their entire season resume. Florida st. will not be pumped up to play them and northern illinois will have a huge chip on their shoulder and that can work when you play one game, but Northern Illinois has absolutely no business being in that game. The fact that Oklahoma was ranked 11th and Northern Illinois 15th in the bcs while Northern Illinois played noone all year and lost to Iowa, while Oklahoma lost too 2 tops 5 bcs teams shows you that the whole ranking system is a sham, plus somehow Texas is still ranked. I have no idea how

Was Kirk a little Harsh? Yes. Was he wrong? No. NIu dosent deserve to be in the orange bowl. And this is coming from a lifelong Niu fan.

Did OSU play Wisconsin this year? No one saw their demolishing of Nebraska coming.

Yes, tOSU beat Wisconsin in OT at Camp Randall. I definitely didn't see the complete embarrassment that was Nebraska coming, but their run defense was pretty awful at times throughout the season.

I am an NIU alum and agree they don't deserve to be there. Everyone keeps saying they lost to Iowa, it was by 1 pt, lost at the end of the game, and 1st game of the year. They could have won the game had they taken a safety instead of punting from their own endzone. That being said would people think they deserve to be there had they beat Iowa and were 13-0? Hate the system not the players. Go Huskies!!!

Bowl games are also important for fans. Fans like watching exciting games between evenly matched teams. I don't want to watch a MAC team play one of the best teams in college football. I bet Florida State will win by at least 14.

OSU doesn't have much to brag about though because of rules they broke.. It's sad because this would have been their year too because I still think Notre Dames magic runs out. They got lucky as hell this year.

Last year's national championship was decided by a wider margin of victory than that. Hell, last year's Orange Bowl was 70-33. Were those enjoyable, nonetheless, because they didn't feature mid-major teams? All you're doing is griping about the outcome before the game is even played.

I am actually more intrigued by this game having NIU in it, than out of it.

No one expected LSU to play like complete crap in last year's National Championship game. I just don't want to see a team that barely beat Army.

So in my opinion, no NIU does not deserve to play in a BCS.

How is NI's defense?

Can FSU's score equal the cost of a BCS ticket? The 1999 National Championship prime seat cost $100 face. This year's OB crappy seats cost more than that.

Received an email from UF, offering students Sugar Bowl tickets for $125. Anyone want a few?

NIU's defense?

Allowed 40 points to Army (2-10)
Allowed 20+ points to Kansas, CMU, Ball St., WMU, Toledo, and Kent State

And yes, NIU did lose to Iowa, but that was the first game of the year, team's grow throughout the season. Not to mention, part of the reason NIU lost because of a bad call on a downed punt inside the 1 that should have been a touchback

NIU beat Kent State, (who lost to Kentucky by 33, wow, Kentucky was awful this year, they got run by Arkansas this year by 42 midway through the 3rd Qtr due to lightning) Kansas and lost to IOWA. You talk about not playing anyone. Yikes.

Ok...
Louisville lost 2 of its last 3 games to teams that had records of 7-5 and 5-7!

And we can play that game!

Kansas State got crushed by Baylor who lost to Iowa State and TCU

Kansas State and Louisville both play in AQ Conferences and both teams won their conferences (not saying that's right, but they qualified due to their status in those conferences)

Kirk was right to question this.

I guess I was not the only person to delete the Booster order form notice I received from the university with $75-$150 per ticket offers. I watched a pair on eBay (30 yard line, 15-20 rows from the field) sell for $99.

Orange Bowl Loyalty Ticket Offer - Florida State University Official Athletic Site

Each school is liable for the purchase of 17,500 tickets whether they sell them or not.

The deadline passed. It was only available for two days before they doled out the tickets. Sorry.
