Default Only 3 invited for Heisman

Collin Klein, Johnny Manziel, and Mante Te'o. I though they usually nominate five?

Although it is not their fault - Lee is hurt by the fact that USC underperformed so badly and Miller by the fact that OSU wasn't elible for bowls.

I think the invitation to NY is based on how many votes you have received??? Not sure, but that would indicate Lee and Miller didn't get many votes.

There's no set number, they just invite whoever they think has a shot. It just happens to be a really lopsided year where there are some very clear frontrunners versus a larger group of top candidates like past years. It's going to be Te'o or Manziel, and I guess Klein got the nod because inviting only two was a little extreme to them.

It is based on the votes that have already been cast. The top vote getters (the only ones with a statistical chance) are invited. One of my college roommates' grandfather was a member of the DAC way back when.

Klein for Heisman.

No Frosh has ever won the award. Some of the voters are pretty vocal they will never vote for a Freshman. Charles Woodson was only def player to win award....he returned kicks/punts and played some O if memory serves. Te'O was a beast this year, overcame some personal odds but not the most exciting. Manziel was def most electrifying player all year but he is a FRESHMAN. Klein has to really like his chances here.

dude has 3400 yards passing 24tds to 8 ints and 1180 yards rushing with 19 rushing TDs..if he does not win i would be shocked...it is supposed to go the best player, not best junior or senior...and on top of that he led his team to defeat the soon to be national champions...it is IMO as close to a LOCK as it gets

Dont push stats so hard, otherwise where is Jordan Lynch? Like 1800 Rushing Yards, 2600 Passing and 45 TDS passing/running.

They won't give it to a freshman. Klein will get it by default.

Being on the east coast I have to say only player I know is Manziel...he has created the buzz and he will win it. No other questions needed...He also will have led his team over the soon to be national champs...that counts for more than anything the other two have done...and he put up those numbers on SEC defenses, not panzies like the other two jokes
