you never know, i would make an offer. i have the andrew luck super listed for 25k, but just dropped it ot 17k cause i think my buy it now price might have scared some people away. never hurts to make an offer...the worst that can happen is the decline

Mine is one that I'm still hoping to get someday as the price it's listed at now is at least lower than what they countered my first offer at when they at it listed a while back.

Just hoping that it someday comes down to a reasonable asking price.

Well I'm 99.999999999999% sure that my max is almost half of what this guy will be willing to sell it for based on his previous asking price, his previous counter to my first offer, and the current listed price.

So I don't want to piss him off with my offers, so I sent him a message asking what he's actually looking for it, figure that's a better way to start negotiations than to piss him off with my offer.

I offered a very very nice price (imo), he didnt even bother to counter.

I did that for the toon super...his response $500 is the lowest he'd go. 2Weeks earlier the platinum super sold for just under $120. So why is there a $380 premium on this one. It will complete my rainbow if he can do $150 which was declined.

Because a lot of people are high on Toon. I don't blame him to hold it hostage on a high price and only want a high price. The potential is there so if he can't move it at $500, he'll wait and hope Toon does play well next season.

The problem is the guy is pricing it at what the card COULD be worth, only thing is that it has some bad autos on the card (sloppier than normal and runs off sticker) and he even calls out (rightfully so) that there is some damage on the back.

Asking what someone wants for a card (especially when they've listed a price and are accepting offers) is much more annoying than sending an actual offer, even if it's low. There are people who won't even respond to that type of question. I just answer, "what's the most you're willing to pay?" If you really want it, make your best offer (as opposed to trying to nibble around and get a deal), and move on.

I never missed a game. All were recorded. Do you know how many games he missed with injuries???? Man the guy was hurt every other week. He has serious durability issues. Look at him.....already. He has it at that price because he lost his A$$ on the box/case he overpaid for. We all know that. Like I said platinum super sold for under 120 and it was released after finest. fresh out the gate man. Im sure most ppl here woulda taken $150 for a guy that just won't make it. Toon? He hasn't played yet, hence why the guy can hold it hostage. All it takes is one game. I agree that it isn't worth much now but you are assuming way more then even I am. He lost his butt on the box/case he overpaid for? He won't make it? Okay that is your opinion. But maybe the seller doesn't need the money so he doesn't mind holding onto it for another 9 months. Again, it takes one game for prices to go up.

Not a football superfractor, but my PC player (Shaun Marcum) has one listed at what I think is a little bit of a silly price. I offered what I thought was fair, but no love or response on it. Guess I'll just stick to buying his other 1/1s that pop up - Usually less than $10 for any of them. The most expensive 1/1 I have of his was a little over $20 for his 2012 Bowman Red and even then it was only $2-3 because of eBay bucks.

Completely agree, I hate when someone asks me how low I could go

But I already made an offer the first time he listed it and his counter was more than twice what it should be worth given the damage/autos

So I told him I'm interested in it but can't buy it unless I sell some cards myself first, which is true, so before making an offer I needed to know what kind of value he has on it so I know if I can feasibly sell enough for it

By just that, then you are more then likely right. The only time where I see over valuing a card makes sense is rookies because people are just waiting for the player to explode. So they have a high price reflecting the potential.

Lol you do know why he hasn't played yet? Look up missed games in college...Plus games he was taken out of from a previous injury. He has foot problems lol. Things can change but yet another injury before the season of your rookie year. Its honestly going to be what.....$75 at most midseason with not alot of production. Maybe then he'd lower it to $500 and say 2014 is the guys year. Future hall of famer! Im just pissed man. I gave a offer over the platinum 1/1. Since the guy im collecting can't appear on the hof ballet i can't get it. Hoping for zero production next year and ill see what outrageous price he wants then.
