Default Higher ceiling topps chrome or contenders

Which now has more room for growth? 2009 and before it was Contenders. Starting with 2010 Contenders has increased the print runs of the rookies and Topps keeps there auto'ed print run top secret. Does Chrome have more room for growth.

As a couple examples Cam Newton's Contenders and Topps Chrome sell for basically the same as well as Sam Bradford. Compared to 2009 Matthew Staffords Contenders sells for double if not more than the Topps Chrome.

So am I missing something or is Chrome now passing Contenders?

Personally I like Chrome better. I think it's all about the collectors' preference.

Love chrome. Never been a big fan of Contenders. Collector's preference is what is usually comes done to. Just my opinion.

alot has to do with the design and on card autograph also, this years contenders may be a huge success with the andrew luck rookie looking like the peyton manning rookie, that design is awesome.

Seems to me that 2010 was better for Contenders but 2011 was better for Chrome. If Contenders is going to insist on non-numbered autos, they should at least do a numbered parallel structure similar to Chrome.

Call me crazy but I kind of like the seemingly random print run of Contenders. I mean, Maurice Clarett's autos are usually barely worth the cardboard they were printed on...you combine the /89 print run of the Contenders, BOOM it's a $30 card...

Forgot to mention, on-card does look a lot better. There is nothing uglier than a Chrome sticker auto.
