Default Ebay Question- Please Help

i bought a card that i felt was underpriced via bin for 59.95. I then immediately ran a 3 day auction and the card sold for 99.00, i know im a genius LOL....Anyhow the original seller sent me a cancel request. Is what i did in violation of ebays rules? Why should i have to cancel????

Thanks for any info Gents!!!

You ran an auction for a card you don't physically have yet? [shakes head]

He sent you a cancel request since he probably saw you selling the card and didn't want to be a "victim" of your flip...but you have the right to say no and "force" him to send it. If not you will get your money back from paypal but you have a not-so-happy buyer in your hands.

Not worth the headache.....should have listed when you actually RECEIVED the card.

Both you and he original seller will/should end up with negs.

Nothing else you can do.

Exactly what messier said.

I would never sell anything I don't have in hand. What if the card got lost in the mail on its way to you? What if it was damaged in the mail on its way to you? You run a huge risk selling something you don't already have in hand.

Then that's the risk you take. That $40 is GONE if the original seller doesn't send the card. Then you have an angry buyer on your hands.

What do? Decline the cancel and "force" him to send it. If not, you will get your money back from paypal.

Either way, you'll have an angry buyer on your hands for slow shipping or not sending the card.

Bonehead move on your part IMO.

You are in a tight spot. You are going to piss of your buyer no matter what. So you might as well deny the sellers request to cancel and leave him a negative for being a jerk assuming he does not follow thru. Also contact you buyer and be honest. Just tell the buyer that your seller screwed you and apologize, offer a refund and hope he does not neg you.

Yea. You are both wrong here.

The seller should honor his deal. I would decline the cancel request, but that still doens't mean he is going to send the card.

You should never list items you don't have. Now you are going to end up with a well deserved neg.

Just curious, did you pay the original seller before your auction ended? Or were you waiting to to use your buyers money?

did the seller refund your money? Did he previously mark on ebay that he had already mailed the card to you? If so, go ahead and leave a neg because the only reason he canceled was because you sold it for more. Oh yeah, and don't try that again

I wouldn't cancel your buy but I wouldn't sell a card that wasn't in my hand either.

Btw OP, your 7 retractions are against the rules as well. Don't place a bid until you're sure you want to buy.

Also, I blocked you on ebay. I suggest others do the same.

I wasn't going to but the 7 retractions are bad.
