Quick Question about Contenders

So I really wanna buy a Luck Contenders when they come out. Now I am just asking what guys think a Luck Contenders will run me when they come out. I am thinking they will be around what a Cam was when it came out. I dont remember what they were selling for when they first came out. Any help would be cool.

i would guess a luck contenders will be 300-400 out the gate maybe more if the colts keep winning

Well Contenders will be pushed back like it always is. I could see them going for 500.00 when it first hits depending on his playoff performance, if they get there.

hmmmmmm I really wanna get one as an investment type card. I really kicked myself when I didnt get an Aaron Rodgers before they went crazy high lol. So do you think they will settle down to a little more reasonable like 250? Kinda like APs did after they came out and were like 700 out of the gate lol

Assuming its not a SSP then I see the prices being around the 250 range in the offseason. Thats just my guess. All prices drop during the offseason

No problem. I followed it last year with Cam because as a Panthers fan lol I just had to have one. Out of the gate they were 350-400 but after being out for a while the prices started to decline so it was more reasonable to pick one up.

I think there was only a decline because it wasn't as rare as initially thought. If the Luck is under a print run of 400, I think it will be pricey.

To compare to Bradford a few years back. I bypassed buying any boxes an bought one brand new for $260 a few days after release. I now wish I didn't... and even back then the prices dropped within a few months If you have the patience to wait it could save you $100. I'll definitely be picking one up, but probably in June.

If it's for long term PC, then why not wait a few months for the hype of the set to cool off and buy then. I know it's hard, I get sucked into the new releases too, especially when you tell yourself that you'll just buy the singles and not waste money on ripping boxes, lol

Contenders is a fascinating release/card imo. For instance the Portis 02 Contenders auto from what I have seen used to sell for $100-$150, I picked one up for $20 a couple of months ago.

I think set builders play into the prices too. Take the Julius Thomas '11 Contenders auto for example, one just sold for like $60...it is /99. The '09 Tom Brandstater (/63) sells for $40-$70....
