Pretty much everyone has I believe.

I called them, it was the quickest, easiest call to PP ever. Must have been flagged like a SOB!

Paypal paid them back with their own money I think.

Did the same thing. Easy for me, but I feel horrible for PayPal. I hope they catch this guy

I haven't yet, they said 10 days after my claim was filed it would happen, but it never did and I just realized it was a few days past that time now

Guess I should give them a call and see what's up

Same thing happened to me. Yes, just call them, and they will do it instantly.

I have spent almost 3 hours on hold trying to talk to an agent, absolutely furious at their lack of customer service.

Take 2 seconds and search these forums. There are only 57 billion threads.

Exactly, too many threads to find anything useful. When you say "we", are you including yourself? Because I doubt you spent any money with Haiku. Looks like the OP spent over $400 with him. Are you a moderator now? If so, get rid of the thread, if not, maybe just move on?

Seriously? I don't. They take a really nice, hefty commission for handling the money for Paypal. Especially since they have a monopoly.

They'll replace all that money in about 18 seconds.

You're right...but I feel like this type of scam can happen to them easily. It seems as if any Joe can take the money, wait a week to assure its withdrawn completely from the PayPal account, and never be heard from again.

If you're a leach on society then yes, you can do that.

The bigger scam is the nearly 20% that Ebay/Paypal takes away from your sale and the fact that they refund SHIPPING to the buyers in a dispute. So, not only are you out the sale price of the card, you actually LOSE money when PP awards the shipping back to the buyer.

Definitely true. But eBay is the place I have the problem with...PayPal is pretty cool. eBay's 10% is just outrageous, but PayPal's fees are much less.

I am still out about 375. Waiting to see what happens. I haven't called yet though, I am on vacation with family and really don't want to take 3 hours of their time to waste arguing with PayPal. Will probably call when I get back on New Years

Paypal and eBay are the same.

Technically you can consider eBay fees 13%

Just keep in mind that the cash wasnt withdrawn it was SPENT. His PP was unverified so he had limits on certain stuff...Ebay NOT being one of them. So if he took the $10k+ and bought phones/gift cards/other intangibles really not much could be done unless they froze the outgoing payments then the domino effect begins.

Just got my money back, spent about 15 minutes on the phone with most of it just on hold, but as soon as I told her what was up, she immediately refunded my money

Headed to the card show tomorrow now with this and my fantasy football winnings to get me a couple boxes, hahaha

Still havent gotten my money back yet. Have won one of my two cases, just waiting for the money, the other one I called on Tuesday, they said they would have it taken care of that night, and never did. I am kinda mad that I'm one of the last to get my money back, even though i was one of the first to file.

It has something to do with me having a merchant account, this kind of situation seems to be the only time its bad to have that.
