Default Is there anyone on this board that thinks Geno Smith should be a first round pick?

I just don't see it...

I don't think so, either.

He probably will be only because of positional scarcity. Maybe high 3rd realistically.

I think he would be a late second round pick in a draft that had more top end talent at the position as of right now. Had the season not fallen apart for West Virginia, he is a top 20 pick. With that said, someone is going to fall in love with his measurables at the combine and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in the first round anyway. I'm not as down on him as a lot of people I guess. I think he will end up being pretty successful on Sundays.

What's better is his completion %. I didn't think it was that high.

No way he is Vyoung. Chiefs will take him first. Why would KC wait and take a QB later if the position is lower in quality this year...guy has an NFL arm, and remember today's weather. His WRs could not catch anything that hit their damn hands

NO! Don't gamble with the first overall pick on a project QB. Take a Tackle or trade down.

Who knows anymore? Most draft experts said Russell Wilson shouldn't have been in the first 5 rounds. You never know.

KC has to take what they need. He has a pro arm. Have to take a chance. KC fans will have the teams head if they don't. KC O Line is getting better. Have to take a QB

Although being a KC fan, I could see them trading down....

Much better value with a superior OT at No1 than Smith. Don't draft a need by over reaching at No1. There's going to be plenty of quality QB's available at the top of Round 2.

Yes. I do not just think that because im a die hard mountaineer fan. BUT if you have watched every game basically Geno has the skill to be a great qb. I say if we had a great oline and defense we would be in the championship. Everytime WVU has a good player it has to be some people who put him down because of the college he went to! But in my opinion YES he will be a first round pick and YES he will be a great qb in the NFL!

Why wait to take a QB later if you know it's a "weak" class... KC needs best available.

Remember how many WVU Fans said Pat White and Steve Slaton would both be perennial pro bowlers? 1 is Completely out of the NFL and the other one is pretty dang close.

Because if you let a franchise LT slip by and miss on a QB (which the Chiefs have done, a lot), we'll be decrying their epic whiff at the top again.

The class is weak because there's no clear Number 1 QB who deserves to be Number 1 overall. Take a tackle, or trade down to stack up picks and try to trade back up later to snag one you feel has better value at the pick. QB is a big hole, but reaching for one and missing is almost as bad as not drafting one at all.

I agree. Chiefs can't afford a bust at #1. They need to trade for a ton of picks, both this year and next.

Not sure I completely agree. There are many teams that are toward the top that will be looking for a QB. People reach at the position all the time. KC can't wait for the 4th QB in this draft. I also don't want them to take a FA and sign them to a 5 year deal. Bad year to be bad, but have to take a chance. They never take a chance at 1st round QB and the way the QB play was this year, it's time. And they are fine on the O-Line and getting better.

You can not judge a team by those players. Different time different players...Lets just hope he doesnt end up like pat. I was depressed for 2 weeks after that hit
