Crickets because he had one nice drive, disregarding the numbers on that night that are 7/19 for 118 and a TD or 3.6 yard per carry average (18 for 50)? He looked better, but that's still pretty awful for someone everyone here thought should be a Heisman candidate in the MAC.

so..you were quick to discredit him after 1 quarter...and at the half...

comes out strong to start 2nd half and all you can give is: meh, hes still been awful, but is looking better?

makes sense

i guess you will also say that perfectly thrown strike to his RB was just meh...

or that pass (now 2 passes ago) that shouldve been caught by the WR on strike..was meh...

or that run turned shovel for a first down was meh...

He was AWFUL in the first half...seriously. One of the worst performances I've ever seen from someone so hyped. Was his one decent drive supposed to cancel out that awful performance? He's finally not playing like he's pissing down his leg.

lol even if he plays the game of his life tonight and makes a miracle happen it is obvious that he would get crushed if he played in a REAL conference and had to face good defenses each week. Don't forget FSU lost to NC State this year lol they tend to play down to their opponents.

i just find it comical how you just casually pick and choose what you see fit.

Yes, he didnt play well in the first half. Sure..he mightve had jitters...as you put it...he plays on a MAC team playing in a BCS bowl, live on National TV, against a highly rated ACC team.

for comparison sake...since you seem to be stuck on the "MAC" argument...

Tahj Boyd, who is also a hell of a player and athlete..as displayed last night when they beat LSU...only had 237 passing yards and 44 rushing yards against the same FSU team.

FSU averaging almost 8 yards per carry, and throwing it twice as often as they run. They're physically better than NIU, but they're not taking advantage of it.

Manuel needs to stick to 8-12 yard passes in the middle of the field. He has the time. Stop trying to thread it into tight post coverage.

What am I leaving out that I'm "picking and choosing"? Lynch has had exactly one good drive tonight; another solid one ended by a stupid mistake. For being a supposed Heisman-caliber player, he's played awful.

Tahj Boyd had nowhere near the hype or the Heisman reference as Lynch...I'm not sure what relevance he has in the argument; I didn't watch the Clemson/FSU game, so I can't comment on his performance. I am, however, watching Jordan Lynch stink it up against Florida State.

Lynch is reminiscent of Dan Lefevour, only not as good.

Does anybody know if there are extended stats available somewhere, other than just the basics the ESPN Box Score gives?

no, they average 485 and 40 a game...

so far 248 and 10pts...no crickets...and FSU defense gets hyped up, but they are not good as made out to be.....

and did you see those two refs come in...one was way behind the first down marker and the other was ahead of it

they have to keep NIU close so Vegas wins...15 pt spread...hmmmm yeah right, I call BS

The defense has times of dominance, but very inconsistent.

Lynch rushed 21 times for 58 yards (22 from one run)

Why does he keep trying when it fails 20 times? Extremely preferential spot on the 4th down. He was bent backwards away from the line.

Terrible pass interference call on 3rd down.

I noticed that, too...one came in closer to the 39 while the other was on the other side of the 40.

Those overhead shots of stadium are sad. That looks like the lowest attendance I have ever seen at the Orange bowl.
