Default Opinions on coach vacancies in the NFL?

I'd like to hear everyone's opinion, who should go where, which will be successful. I'm a big Browns fan... And I would have loved to see Bill O' Brien be the new coach, however, he just committed himself to Penn State. So, that's a no-go. Will Chip Kelly leave? This is what will happen to the Browns...

Chip Kelly says no. The Browns end up re-hiring Romeo Crennel, Haslem spends a billion dollars in free agency, and the Browns go 7-9 next year, Brandon Weeden retires after next season. The Browns then draft Bridgewater out of Louisville, who leads them to 12 straight playoff appearances. Sounds like a plan...

im also a big browns fan, i was hoping for bill o brien because of his experience in btoh college and nfl, but as you said that's no good, looks like chip might be the man, they are spending a lot of time towards him so he seems the likely option, if so, i find it hard to believe weeden will be the QB next year

Knowing the Browns... they'll pick up Mike and Marcus Vick.

All I know, is that as a Steeler fan surrounded By Browns fans, I really would not be happy if they hired Bruce Arians. I would LOVE for them to get Kelly or Saban, because I smell failure all over over both of them.

Sadly, the Browns have shown that they are not SMART enough to smell the failure. Pat Shurmur? I mean... come on. I would love for them to have Bruce Arians.. I don't see that happening though. Hopefully Haslam does some good for the team though.

Not sure why the Browns haven't made an attempt to get Lovie Smith or Andy Reid. Astonishes me about that. I'd love to see Chip Kelly in Cleveland, but he won't leave. The coach is up in the air at this point

haslam seems like hes actually going to spend some money and try to get the browns back on track, i like his attitude and he wants to win, we have some very solid pieces in place right now and we are one of the younger teams in the NFL, sadly, like it's been since 1999, we stilllllll need a QB, weeden is not the answer regardless who's the coach

Even though not by name, it is nice to see someone name Jay Gruden. Between Jay Gruden and Mike Zimmer, I cannot believe they are not getting more attention. Again, as a Steeler fan, lets get them out of the division

After Reid failed to utilize McCoy for so many years I would not invest much in Jamaal Charles...

I still hate the fact the we took Weeden in the first place. I was never high on him, and the fact that we took him so high upset me. McCoy isn't the answer at QB by any means... But he didn't get much of a chance. I mean, you bring in a new head coach, new offensive system, no offseason, have 3 different starting running backs, the right side of the line is god awful, and your receivers tie for the league lead in drops? It's hard to succeed in those circumstances.

I would like Jimmy Haslam to drive a truckload of money up to Bill Cowher's house and beg him to take the job.
If that's isn't enough, then have another truck ready. Repeat as necessary till he signs.

Gruden isn't getting any attention b/c Gruden doesn't want to coach. If you're team needs a coach end your pipe dream of getting him

Nick Saban is the browns first choice... I like Chip though, he will adapt his offense to the strengths of the team (weeden will look like a pro-bowler next year running a New England style offense)

I'm afraid that there is more of a chance of Bernie Kosar dusting off his cleats for one last season on the field than the Browns rehiring Romeo Crennel. Although I'm not sure the Browns fans would mind a Bernie comeback. Hell, he's younger than Weeden.

Who knows whether or not Jon Gruden is getting attention (Or Cower and Holmgren). Both Gruden and Holmgren said they would consider coming back and who knows how many teams have contacted them. The only reason we hear about all these other people being contacted is because we need to ask permission to get an interview. With those three, no one needs to ask anything, and for all we know, they could be talking as we speak.

I have a feeling Gruden, Cower, and Holmgren are waiting for the Cowboys job to open up

They all know that they have a job broadcasting and would rather wait for a decent team rather then getting a crappy rebuilding team

I would really like for my Eagles to go with a defensive minded coach but I doubt that will happen. Honestly Bruce Arians is at the top of my list but we will do something goofy by hiring Chip Kelly. I do not think Kelly will translate to the NFL effectively.
