I agree. I think one of those two is gone though with the first pick in round 4 to Jacksonville. IMO

Ideal QB situation I think would be to grab Collin Klein as an undrafted FA is he doesn't end up getting drafted.

I gotta weigh in on this....ok Kyle Long, good pick up? Possibly....

The best pick at the spot we had - absolutely not!! Can you imagine the problems having Brandon Marshall (6'4" 230), Alshon Jeffery (6'3" 220), Martellus Bennett (6'6" 265), & Tyler Eifert (6'5" 250) would create for any NFL defense??!! You have to double team at least one - maybe 2 of those guys for sheer mismatches alone!!

I agree we need protection to let Baby Jay do his thing, but c'mon man!! Kyle Long would have been available in the 2nd, and if not him - one of the many OLBs available in this draft.....

I gotta support the decision because I bleed blue and orange, but I think the Bears messed up. My prediction - Eifert torches us for 150 yds & 2 TDs first game of the season..... The dude is a freak, and insanely fast and smart for his size.....potential offensive ROY due to the lack of skilled position players in this draft....

My thoughts exactly. Yes the o-line needs help and Long, will help (hopefully) but Eiffert would have been my selection. Having matchup problems for linebackers and the secondary is one way to help the linemen.

There is no way he would have fallen to our 2nd round pick. He was the best Offensive Lineman left, and doubt he would have made it past Dallas in the first.

So my question to you guys is, what would you have wanted them to do if Cooper fell to them and you had to pick between Cooper or Eifert?

I actually wasnt to excited about the prospect of getting Eifert, so I would have taken Cooper. Now if you asked me Ogletree or Cooper, that would be one Id have to think about.

Could not be happier with getting Greene in the 4th.

So far we have a Guard who could turn into something special under Kromer, and two very hard hitting, very athletic LBs. Greene could be a turnover machine.

The Bears just picked up another great value linebacker in Cornelius Washington. They did well in that department.

I ended up pretty satisfied with the draft. Possibly reached a little on a couple picks but had some nice value picks in the later rounds. After being stuck in a bad situation this off season with only 5 picks wouldn't it be smart to try to unload a few guys to pick up some more picks for next year? (someone like hester although I'm not sure what kind of value we could still get out of him)

It would of been nice to be able to take one of the quality QB's in the fourth or taken a chance on a guy like Lattimore. I was extremely jealous of a team like the 49ers having a crazy amount of picks to play around with

Gil Brandt ‏@Gil_Brandt 19h
Love Kyle Long pick by @ChicagoBears. Was told by several people @nflcolts (24) and @Packers (26) would have taken him had Bears not.

If all goes as it should, we should easily take a wild card spot and compete for the divison. However, we know from the last 2 years that It doesnt always work that way.

Harbaugh: Trestman 'taught me everything' - Chicago Bears Blog - ESPN Chicago

San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said Friday that new Chicago Bears coach Marc Trestman "taught me everything" when they were on the Oakland Raiders coaching staff, and he still uses many of Trestman's techniques.

"Everything wouldn't be an overstatement," Harbaugh said Friday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN Chicago 1000. "We use his system still of calling plays and the way he taught us those concepts and techniques. I've used (those) since I coached with the Raiders, the University of San Diego, Stanford and the 49ers.

"He will do great and talk about long overdue. Marc Trestman becoming a head coach is well deserved, he will do a phenomenal job."

Asked if the Bears hit a home run with their hire of Trestman, Harbaugh said: "Absolutely. Grand slam. That was a grand slam hire. You see the coaches that Marc has put around him, they know football. He knows football. He's a great teacher and I think that's coaching right there. ...

"That's something I learned working with Marc, by example and by things that he would tell me. That's one of my lucky breaks in coaching was to work with Marc Trestman because he took the time to train me and to teach me. And I will always be thankful for that."

You know....just in case us Bears fans werent ready enough for week 1

Oh and Russell had a solid workout for the Bears in which he appeared very trim and positive, and showed good arm strength, but a signing is unexpected.
