Since the game's over, may as well talk about something else. There is no report on this, but I think Saban will go to the NFL again after this game.
I watched the NFL network's A Football Life about the 95 Browns where Saban was the DC for Belichick. I think he might go back there. Here are the reasons. 1. He has done everything you can do in the NCAA level and wants another challenge. He hates that despite all he has done he is considered a failure in the NFL. In a radio interview, even his wife said she thought he wasn't getting any enjoyment out of coaching NCAA right now. 2. The Browns are looking for a big hire, and almost hired a college guy, if he didn't get cold feet. 3. Heard rumors a few weeks ago that the Browns wanted Saban and Mike Lombardi, both from the 95 team. Thoughts?

I highly doubt it unless Haslam throws major Dollars at him + complete control of the system. T-Rich is there and he's got a pretty good O-Line too. It would require Haslam to really be very acquiencent to Saban's demands.

They worship him like a god at Alabama. He makes loads and loads of cash. He has the program established so well that 5 star recruits would flock there even with minimal effort on the part of the staff. He'd be extremely crazy to leave.

Nick Saban is to Tuscaloosa, as the Pope is to the Vatican.
Satan stays in Alabama. ![]() ![]()

Not even close. Why would he leave a winning program, to start over? It's common sense.

He will do what Chip Kelly did and realize that being a top dog in college beats trying to salvage a terrible NFL team.
Also don't underestimate the lure of complete control. Coaches have huge egos and want to run the show. In college you can do that, you only answer to the AD and School President who both mostly stay out of your way. In the NFL you answer to an owner and likely a GM, President, etc. In college you can recruit whoever you want and build your team your way. In the NFL those other executives might sign certain guys, draft certain guys, and so on.

Assuming he doesn't pull a Peter Carroll and get caught cheating, I don't see him leaving Bama until they drag him out.

Somebody said the other day that in the NFL the worst team gets the 1st pick in the draft, but in College, the BEST team gets the 1st picks!
That said, I would rather be in the NFL, I couldn't imagine trying to recruit 16 year olds who've thought they were super stars since they were 9!

No chance he ever goes back to the NFL...... He sucks as an NFL head coach..... Always has and always will...... He would have zero respect from grown men because they know he's a fraud of a coach.... He can only coach kids..... He needs to stick to what he knows.

If bama doesnt win the national championship in any given season it is considered a failure. I would see why he might want to give the nfl another try..he has nothing left to prove in college. He could always come back to college and get a top 5 recruiting class anytime he wants..he is that good of a recruiter
