Were the corners and edges that poor on the Forte?
Overall the grades aren't bad at all. Congrats!

Thicker and patch cards don't grade well. 9.0 is outstanding. A lot of paint chipping and wear and tear from handling tend to get to these, even in toploaders. A lot of holo foil cards have slight curves at the edges just on processing and packaging. 9.5 are great. The 9.0's aren't bad, especially for PC. Overall...not bad! |

How often do you send stuff in to get graded? Are these for your PC or sale?

Oh ok. I see a ton of people on here always saying they don't like their PC cards graded. All of mine I submitted except for the RG3 are PC. I like the fact that they're better protected.

I hear ya. 10 cards cost me about $140 not including shipping and insurance. It was worth it though, checking the grades today and seeing the results was worth the wait and the $.

Just do specials. My downfall is I don't like to wait, so I'm usually a 10 day type of guy. But this past sub was $9 per card for 10 day. $2 for autos

The Tomas was already a 9 with a 10/9.5/9.5/8.5 sub But the case was cracked So versus a re-slab, I cracked it hoping for a bump. Surface didn't get bumped. Edges and centering subs flip flopped though The Rodgers I'm fine with. 9/10 is tough on that card. I wonder how many 9/10s there are versus 9/9 Forte is what it is

You must have forgotten to slip a $20 between the card savers. That always helps when I submit my cards.
Rodgers is an extremely solid 9 but you know that 8.5 corner grade is whispering for you to attempt my bump method...

bump and you might lose the 10 auto...not worth it...BGS is all over the place on grades these days. Likely to come back an 8.5 with a 9 if you send it back.

Recent experience selling has caused me to grade a lot more than I have in the past 2 years. Had a D Bree's rookie auto I bought on e-bay 4 years ago graded for the PC. BGS gave it an 8.5. A year ago I decide to downsize the PC and list the Bree's. I crack the case before listing and it sells. Three weeks after the buyer has the card, he gets it graded at BGS. They tell him it was altered. Either they were wrong with the initial grading, or the buyer altered it before submitting. Either way, it made me look bad. Now, if it has the potential to sell, I prefer the grading so I don't deal with that. |
