I like your pick for Van Buren as the Eagles best running back in franchise history. However, you could make the argument Wilbert Montgomery based off of his yardage amount and games played for the Eagles. I would still give the edge to Van Buren based on his dominance in the '40s.

I think Ray Rice is better than Jamal Lewis, but Bernard Pierce will be on this list in a decade

I immedately thought of Csonka for the Dolphins. But since someone on the team labeled him a full back instead of a half back, then he can't be considered the best Dolphins running back of all time. Never mind he ran the ball.

But, wait

I think you might be a bit biased by the man himself rather than the stats and career.

Most of them were fullbacks back in the day.

Brown
Franco
Csonka

Imac, try again ... a fullback is a running back position, always has been.

If I had to choose a best RB for Cincinnati, it would be James Brooks and his 8 pro bowls.
Brooks was a great all around back (only 4 Pro Bowls though) but Pete Johnson should be in the discussion as well. 82 career TD's in only 8 seasons and helped get the Bengals to their 1st Super Bowl appearance.

How does The Juice keep getting the nod over Thurman Thomas for the Bills? Simpson had a great five year stretch, but I think we glorify what he did over the course of his career. Thomas had over 16,000 yards from scrimmage.

100% agree. Hourning wouldn't be in the HOF based on his offensive play.

I am aware of the records but I think Tony was a better pure RB than Emmitt. I think emmitt had a better situation with line and QB/WR. If we are just talking talent at the position.

Sayers was great for what he did, but you can't play the if game. If we did then I could throw Red Grange on the list for the Bears or even Bronko Nagurski.

I love seeing someone else put Biakabutuka on the list too, my favorite player in franchise history and the reason I'm a Panthers fan to begin with.

But to be honest, I'd have to put Davis above him solely based on the SB season as that one season was heads and shoulders above anything Biakabutuka did for us

And assuming Deangelo is gone next year, Stewart will take over that #1 spot rather soon

Bettis definitely held onto the football better than Franco.

The talent surrounding Thurman was head and shoulders better than anyone OJ had on his Bills team.

EDIT: Not taking anything away from Thurman at all, still one of the greats but I think OJ still has the edge. 2003 rushing yards in 14 games is absolutely ridiculous.

Good list, some changes I would make:

49ers- Frank Gore
Colts- Edgerrin James
Dolphins- Ricky Williams
Eagles- Brian Westbrook
Falcons- Michael Turner
Packers- Ahman Green

Holy crap! This thread is getting ridiculous! I don't even know where to start. Sayers over Payton!!? Gore over Craig!!? Williams or Csonka!?! Faulk over Dickerson?!!? etc etc. The average age on this forum must be about 13. I am just going to save myself the trouble and leave this thread never to return.

Gore is absolutely better than Craig. Craig better receiver, Gore much better runner.
