What was your WORST sale ever??

Grrr I'm frustrated and annoyed at myself so I wanted to see who else made a bonehead play.

I pulled a 2011 National Treasures Colin Kaepernick RAP w/ a 4-color patch /99 when it first came out and sold it like a week later for $125. Thought I got a good price! I can't second guess myself because he was a back-up to a bonafide starter at that time, but hindsight being 20/20 sure is annoying. The card would probably be a $750-$850 card now, and even more if he wins the Super Bowl!

What is your "worst sale" in this type of respect?

same thing same player but with contenders and inception. sold them both a few weeks ago for $65 combined now worth $300 or more. Oh well

Sold a Russel Wilson Prime Level V 1/1 Auto earlier this season for just under $400. I believe the buyer sold it for $1200 during playoffs. Not a big deal really. I was very happy at the time and didnt necessarily need the money, just wanted to use the money to buy a Luck Auto, which I did. Wish I would have hung on for about 8 more weeks though so I could buy a really nice Luck.

If you get the going rate at the time of a sale it is NEVER bad.

I once sold a Brett Favre auto wothout doing research. I got $200 and the guy sold it the day he got it for almost $375.

Holding prospect cards long term is for baseball collectors. You can feel the house shake before the earthquake, just buy right before it hits.

I wouldn't worry about selling over a year before Kaepernick got the start. NO one, saw Harbaugh benching Alex Smith after the year he was having up to that point.

My worst sales are usually cards I paid too much for and I end up having to cut my losses to free up some $$$, like Cam Newton this year and Sam Bradford before him.

Posted a few times already in simliar past threads... In 2003 Tony Romo haunted my breaks. I sold, at least, 2 of his SPA Auto RCs and a Contenders Auto RC for anywhere from $4 to $9 each.

it was the year the packers won the super bowl, when packers were in the slide and smith was on bench. boy do i reget that.packers turned around season and i will probably never be able to buy a rookie auto of his for the 150 i made.

I pulled not one not two but three Tom Brady 2000 Contenders Auto at the time think they book at $15 each ...traded all 3 for a 2000 upper deck box...

its not football but I sold a mike trout bowman chrome gold auto bgs 9.5/10 for $850, then it hit $2300, i also sold his blue for $300 it hit $800 to $1000, also a xfractor bgs 9.5 for $350 sells now for $900

I had a pair of Bowman Chrome Gold Refractor Auto David Wrights several years ago. I sold them for $400-$450 each forget which. They later sold for over $3000 ea.. I sold the bulk of my collection when I was buying my first house and it was a bad time to dump Joe Mauer, Pujols, Howard and Wright stuff. Had tons of their Bowman Chromes (other than Pujols)/Autos. Also sold off my Ichiro Ultimate Auto RC.
