Tom Brady Reportedly Apologized for Kung Fu Slide
Glad Brady is manning up for his unmanly action.
Ed Reed: Brady apologized for slide | ProFootballTalk
Ravens safety Bernard Pollard has been banging the drum to get the NFL to discipline Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for a slide during the AFC Championship Game, a play that Brady has since apologized for making. Pollard thought that Brady intentionally tried to kick Ravens safety Ed Reed at the end of a run when he slid with his right leg higher than you’d expect to see on such a play. During a radio interview with WJZ in Baltimore, Reed said that he heard from Brady after the game about the slide in question. “We talked actually not too long ago, we talked on the phone. He actually reached out to me, texted me,” Reed said, via ESPNBoston.com. “I tried to text him back, but the message exploded after 12 seconds, so I had to call him … and he’s just apologized and what not. But I told him, ‘You know, it’s good, man.’” Reed went on to say that he doesn’t think Brady is a dirty player and that “emotions get going in the game.” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the website Tuesday that “any play of that nature is routinely reviewed” so Pollard might yet get his wish granted.
|
So Pollard had nothing to do with the play...but is still complaining, even though everyone involved in the play made good on it? Jeez...

Pollard is the last player to be talking about. Only Patriots injured(By Pollard): Gronk, Brady, Ridley, Welker, anyone else I am missing?

Did you ever think that Patriots players don't get enough calcium? |
Did you ever think that Patriots players don't get enough calcium?
Ah, that could be it! More calcium, never thought of that :o |

Are you saying Pollard purposely injured them? I've seen replays of each of them and they were all pretty standard hits. I'm going with the lack of calcium comment, along with coincidence Pollard was in on all of them. |
Agreed. Pollard might be the last player in the NFL to complain about anyone else being cheap. It's pretty cool that Brady made the effort to tell Reed he was sorry for the slide.

It's just a little sickening that Suh gets lambasted for supposedly kicking Schaub in the junk and Brady just gets a free pass.
After seeing both plays repeatedly in super slo mo, here is my take: Suh--got whipped around on the play. If he was aiming for a nut shot, it was a blind nut shot....maybe he could see his target in his peref Brady--eyes directly on target, leg in an exaggeratedly high position IMO, Brady's was clearly a concerted effort to attack the sack. Anyone who tried to argue Suh was targeting Schaub's Schweties should be calling for Brady's head |

Suh has a history of going after players and making stupid, violent plays. Brady's never stomped on anyone, tried to rip their head off well after they play, etc. |

Suh has a history of going after players and making stupid, violent plays. Brady's never stomped on anyone, tried to rip their head off well after they play, etc.
In addition it also looked more like he was trying to protect himself. That doesnt make it right to put your leg up there though as you can still injure someone by doing that. But yes as you said Suh has a history of this type of thing. In baseball if someone one times slides into second base with their leg too high or a little late there might be some discussion about it but it usually goes away fast. If it is a player who is known to intentionally do it all the time they get criticized alot more. |
Brady wasn't going for the nuts anyway, look at the tape he goes for the knee with the foot firmly planted in the dirt, he was going for complete destruction of Reed's knee not a nut shot.
Regardless Brady had the balls (or intelligence...for fear of retaliation later) to admit his guilt and apologize. Suh kicked Scaub in the nuts, and it was intentional, not that it matters. He didn't take the high road and apologize he just denied, denied, denied. |
Still was a b*tch for Brady to pull, I hope he gets fined, I haven't seen one QB slide like that all year, that was deliberate.

I believe Brady was fined 10k for the completely dirty & intentional slide  |
Ban him from the NFL....no place in the NFL for crap like that.
|
So, where's the Pollard fine for his hit on Ridley? You know the play where they ruled Ridley to fumble the ball although he had possession with his @$$ on the turf.
|
Man Ridley got laid out.
|
He should apologize for his unmanly ugg ads.

this was discussed.. a running back is NOT a defenseless player when running the ball, you will NEVER see helmet to helmet called on a hit to a RB. RB's constantly go helmet to helmet with defenders. |
He got fined and will no longer have the benefit of the doubt if it happens again. I'm happy enough.

"Ridley me this batman?.....where the f*ck am I?" Loved that hit. Dude took a seat. |
Did anyone else think he was down though? I know it was a legal hit. I may be bias because I am a big pats fan but did anybody think he was down?
