Default What will Kaeps Value Do?

If they win the super bowl, Im sure he'll get the MVP also most likely.
I know his cards are already crazy high, what do guys think? Go up, stay where there at, or decrease because the hype is gone.

how exactly would the hype be gone if a rookie in his 10th start wins the Super Bowl and possibly MVP???

A SB win will only fuel the fire. It's the only way they can go up. A SB win will bring even casual fans who don't collect to the market. I'm holding the few I have until after the SB. Even if they lose I will still make me some money.

If they win the "SB" and Kaepernick is involved and has a good game prices will rise imo not sure how much but definetly go up. On another note the rise in prices are due to people not even in the hobby not even football card collectors (true fans of the 49ers) buying stuff up you need to realize the 49ers have a huge fan base and every 49er fan I personally know love his future.

MVP votes had to be in before the playoffs started.

i'd say they go up slightly if he wins the superbowl, then level back off and stay pretty steady until some new news comes along for him

I think he meant the Super Bowl MVP. I don't think anyone is making the case for him as regular season MVP.

Correct I was referring to the actual Super Bowl than to the season.

Yep, my goof. I was reading about Adrian Peterson and the MVP on ESPN literally a few minutes before I saw this thread.

Or the year and a half he had to watch game film, practice time, and so on. Regardless of playing time, he still had over a year to learn the pro game

If they win the superbowl they'll go up...

If they win and he had a huge game/mvp...the prices are going to explode.

I disagree. CK7's price spike is caused by greedy day traders who think Kaeps prices still have room to increase. They buy for crazy high prices hoping they can turn around and sell to some other greedy fool at a later time. Will work for some if you sell at the right time, but once the hype is gone i wouldn't want my closet full of Kaepernicks

You actually don't have a case here. Abbreviations are for simplying terms or names that are long or complex. Kaepernick is not a very common name. Had you objected to the abbreviation of an easy or common name like Robert, you might have had a point

They are already overspending now on him. That's why his cards are going as high as they are.
Most people in the hobby know not to buy now and to sell. I sold mine and will just buy them back during the summer at a fraction of the price.

If he wins the Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP u will not be able to buy them back at a fraction of the price in the summer IMO.

Why would anyone buy him right now? He is so hyped up it is absurd. Say he wins the Super Bowl, there will be a price surge, but after a few months the prices will come back down. Then he comes into next season and sucks it up people will drop him like a bad habit. This hobby is fickle and if you have a chance to sell a card for 2000% profit DO IT

Go back an look at Aaron Rodgers, his prices went STUPID during the year he won his ring. However most prices have fallen back to normal levels other than his SPA which was a redemption, and only /99 copies. He is elite QB as they come, and Kaepernick while he doing well IS NOT ELITE. And should not be bringing elite prices after only playing 6 games.

I remember nick foles playing two decent preseason games and everyone was like OMG he is so good. HAHA...he is a joke and sucks just as bad as vick when you see a larger sample of his skill set

That may be the case for some, but for another group of collectors, we're just trying to pick up Kaep's while they're still somewhat affordable--picking them up to put into our collections, with no intentions to resale.

Of course intentions are one thing, but stupidity is another. I fully intend to keep all the Kaep's I have but if $100 to $200 cards become $1 to $2k cards then I'd be crazy not to capitilize--sometimes cards just become too expensive too quickly to keep.
