Default What is Your "One" Card That is So Awesome to You?

Hey all!

Just wanted to make a thread to ask:

What is "that" card that is so special to you?

Perhaps it's only a $10 card, but you love it so much that you would never trade it. Perhaps it's a card that you've had for a long time, but you still can't stop staring at it! Perhaps it's a card that you way overpaid for, but that's what makes it even better

Even though I technically don't have this in yet, I just bought this and know that this will be mine:

1985 Topps Mark McGwire OLY #401...

It was my "holy grail" as a kid (my user name is for big mac FYI)... I still remember a dealer punching a guy in the face at a show back in the 90's after buying a couple of packs and pulling 2 in them lol. They were over $100 raw at the time.

Awesome card man! I love those inscription autos. He could be in the HOF if Foster didn't play in front of him! Hopefully he gets a shot elsewhere!

Since I have started collecting Rodgers, I have only seen this one. For a card /45, that is pretty strange. Plus the design is stellar...

Yea the best I could gather on why he hit him was the guy bought the packs for like half what the guy was asking (begged him for the price). The dealer was a hot head and just lost it lol

That moment when you see a "triple auto" consisting of two autographs...

Awesome card!

My first "big" DeMarco card. my only real highend card that I was able to get before he broke out. Still paid almost as much as the other one that I got and that was after he broke out, but still. Sweet design, and the card looks 10x better in hand.

She and I had the same type of lymphoma. Since I finished my treatments last year, this is a card to remind me of that struggle.

I've got quite a few that are "awesome" to me but, only one that I was able to pull myself... and it was pure luck. They did some larger show in Cleveland back in 06 or 07 at the Convention center downtown. Well, I had left the show for the day and had a bunch of boxes I had picked up and ended up hitting some pretty good autos and jersey cards. I needed holders and there was still an hour or so left to go back over to the show. I grabbed the stuff I needed and was on my way out when one of the dealers asked 'what else you gettin' today from me?' It was who I had picked up a couple boxes from earlier, so I told him I did pretty well. I asked 'what will you give me a deal on?' He says how about a box of Limited for xx dollars? I'd never even opened a box of it before. I figure, what the heck, I'm actually up money on the other boxes, amazingly.

Head back to the hotel, put all the other cards in whatever holders they needed and then opened the Limited. I'm a Cowboys fan and there can't be much better out there to be able to pull of your favorite player and team:

I was so happy to have hit this card. I just wanted it slabbed authentic, but the morons graded it. Still, it's PC until the end.

Thanks man. It is probably my favorite design in my collection. The Peterson in your bucket looks equally as good...
