Default SP Authentic OR Contenders
I plan on buying a case, but not sure which one. What do you all think is the best bet and better product?

I personally love the look of SPA more, but for investment Contenders is probably the way to go. You will have a shot at Luck in Contenders, and you also get more autos in a box. There's the opportunity to get a 1/1 auto or an SP auto. Also I believe the base cards have 1/1 versions in them. Contenders rookie autos seem to hold their value pretty well compared to other sets.

If you're not willing to wait SP Authentic, if you are willing to wait until MAPP is past then contenders. I love contenders but no way it's worth the MAPP price

Unless youre talking about 2011...?

Now, if we were talking about SP Authentic WITH an NFL license reinstated, that would be a whole different animal.

Much as I despise Panini, Contenders seems to be the only thing they consistently get right.

Give me Contenders over SPA any day.

Although ask me in 2008, I probably would've had a different answer.

I doubt you'll see a price drop on Contenders this year, with the Luck Autos on 1998 Retro design like the Peyton Manning RC Autos!


I had the same debate and ordered a case of Contenders. There's no Luck in SPA this year!

These days its contenders, the long term value of spa is tough because of the college uniforms. Contenders this year actually looks really nice with the 1998 design.

I agree with what a few other have said. If SPA had a NFL license i would go with SPA. However they dont anymore so deff Contenders

I agree, I think UD has filled the NCAA niche quite well. I really liked SPA last year and I can't wait to pick up my Hogs this year!
