Is Overpaying a Good Thing Sometimes?

Hey all!

I just got this in just this past week, and it is now my FAVORITE card (yes...even more than my Nnamdis!

)

I bought it via eBay. The seller and I worked out his best price of $250. So, I ended up taking the deal.

Personally, I feel like I overpayed and that if it were to have been auctioned off or looked elsewhere, I doubt it would get over $200.

However, I REALLY wanted the card, so I ended up snagging it up!

Now that I have it in my possession, it feels to me as if I have some kind of obligation to the card. In other words, I feel like since I overpayed more, I should enjoy it more.

Has this ever happened to anybody else? Thanks!

I think you did fine, Vick still sells well and has a ton of collectors. I think(hope) he bounces back.

For sure. Perhaps it really is a contributing factor. If I had gotten this card for $5, I would be very inclined to resell it and make a huge profit.

However, now that I got the card over its probable sale price, I feel much more inclined to keep it. Odd...

If it helps you get a card you really want, not necessarily a bad thing

I just picked one up tonight, a little more than I wanted to spend on the card, I know another one or two will show up on ebay in the next couple weeks and I would have ended up getting it for less than I spent. But by overspending a little bit right now I don't have to worry about finding one later, so I'm fine with spending an extra 5 bucks to know I already have it

Very nice pick up. I have been looking at this one for my collection:

1 1 NFL Logo Shield Brandon Lloyd BGS 8 5 1 1 National Treasures | eBay

I don't know if it belongs to anyone on here, but the price is definitely high. I put an offer in back in September and it was declined. Not even a counter.

Back to your card. I like the Vick more than the Nnamdi one, but I think it's because of the NFL logo used on the card.

Thanks man! Hope you get that Lloyd! LOL it's always frustrating when someone has a PC card, and they're asking far too much for it.

I also LOVE the usage of the full logo shield more than anything. Personally, I really don't like it when they only use the small NFL logo...I want the full shield! It looks so much better!

Well, if you can, I'd definitely go for it. The NT logo shield set is gorgeous, and guess what? They're ACTUALLY game worn!

I've over payed for PC stuff a bunch of times. Good chance you wont see the card again, so just go for it. That's my way of seeing it.

If is a PC Card and u like it who cares what the price was I just payd 300 for a Julio jones super 1/1 BGS 9.5 and who knows if I over pay but I don't care what I like it

But yea I overpay for items often. If I wanted money and no cards then I wouldn't be buying cards now would I??? I just overpaid for a Cousins today but I really want it and I know I won't ever be thinking about that extra money I spent- I will be happy to have the card.

You didn't overpay, a card is only worth what someone pays for it. This is a 1/1, you paid 250! Thus you created your own market value!
