so now the real question........................

do you send him the cards back?

I get that it's considered "stealing" if you don't, but at the same time, by doing so, you're potentially setting some honest person up for losing out on tens of thousands of dollars

Time to get this guy behind bars.

I suggest not just sending the cards back but actually reporting this to both psa and the appropriate authorities.

I'd personally start off with emailing or calling psa with the backstory and scans.

Sending them back to him will just mean he's going to scam someone else. You have the evidence in your possession now getter' done.

First clue should had been him sending you those three cards without even making sure he was getting anything in return.

Years ago there was a huge Craigslist scam involving fake cards in altered/fake PSA holders. I know one guy eventually got arrested but I'm sure a great number of these cards exchanged hands. There are some long threads about it over on the PSA board. I'd post links but I'm on my phone right.

Here's a recent sale of his:

1986 Fleer 57 Michael Jordan Rookie RC PSA 10 Gem Mint | eBay

I see a little weirdness on the right side of the holder, but a lot of stuff is similar to my PSA cards.

There's no registry code on it... is the PSA font at the top different?

Under his 2nd name he started selling fakes according to his feedback. The serial # did not exist therefore he changed his name and his feedback is now private.

Seems to be a big scammer. From the 86/99 lebron exquisite robbed thread:
well it showed that he did cod for a $12000.00 Jordan Rc fedex cod and $1000 gretzky right after i sent the card he changed his feedbacks , i screwed up man i admit it i didnt think fedex would just take fake payment that means anyone can send fake payments through fedex there must be some damn loop hole. I think he might of been working with 2 other people on ebay to give him that feedback. sunbee23 and encapsulated_icons

I'm wondering if his feedback is private because one of his negs called him out on the fakes.

I think you need to contact someone of importance at PSA as soon as you can. You need to keep those cards man and lets authorities in his area know whats going on...this could be a much larger scale...for all we know they could be selling on multiple id's and at shows, etc

Couple things....

Psa holders are a joke... Between psa wiwag and craigslist psa scam.. google them

Psa has done nothing to fix there awful holders...

i have no idea how people open them and resell them but it has happened.. alot

i have tried it for fun and i just bust them...

the reason i have tried is because im building a vintage set and doing it psa..

i want to see if it is possiable.... my poor 1987 psa 8 mcgwire rc is now ruined

also frosting is very over rated majority of cards have it but every one freaks out..

as long as there some sign of clearness in top or bottom the card is fine...

To the OP

If this is all true... you have stumbled into one of the biggest card psa scams...

The FBI was involved in Wiwag and craiglist..

IMO because of the cards they should be involved in this....

All i can say is wow...

I had a similiar thing happen to me involving a 1952 topps mantle in a psa 7, he sent first, card was fake, i filed an online fraud report a detective called me a couple weeks later, said he had an arrest warrant for the guy in Colorado, hopefully he is in jail now! Moral of the story...bgs holders are better than psa

I have been saying for awhile now to stay away from PSA graded cards. PSA is overated. I think beckett should be the top tier grading company. PSA cards should not be worth much do to the fact they can be counterfeited

The font on the labels is different from the font on PSA labels. You don't even have to look really close to see it. Just sit down, look at a bunch of legit PSA slabs, then look at these. It's plain as day.
