Eagles sign Isaac Sopoaga to a 3 year/$12 million deal with $5 mil guaranteed.

Not too happy thus far.....

Like the pickups so far, no big name players but efficient ones.

I understand but guys like Sopoaga aren't the kind of guys you want in a rebuilding phase.

I really like the Sopoaga and Chung additions. Sopoaga is very athletic and can play anywhere on the line, we now have a legit NT for the new 3-4 scheme. Chung can play also being reunited with his college coach.

Chung can lay the wood too.

I like the signings of Chung & Casey. Two nice pickups there.

It looks like they won't get Jake Long, but Andre Smith and Sebastian Vollmer are possibilities.

97.5 FM The Fanatic Philadelphia

According to the EaglesInsider twitter account, the Eagles have agreed to terms with the following free agents: S Kenny Phillips (1 year) and CB Cary Williams (3 years).

Very happy about Phillips. A 1-year show-me (what you can do/if you can stay healthy) deal...no down-side.

I'd be lying if I said I knew enough about Cary Williams to really comment. I'd love to hear from a Ravens fan(s). At the very least, they are addressing positions of need.

And looks like we're about to sign Connor Barwin. I like that move

#Eagles are on the verge of a deal with (former) #Texans pass-rusher Connor Barwin. Receiving the final contract as we type...

Niceeeee. I'm liking the signings so far. No huge names but some small ones that should help a bit (Barwin, Phillips, Chung)

Excellent move! Barwin is a beast!

Now, cut Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman! Have Chung, Phillips, and Anderson compete in the secondary.

Take a shot at Danario Alexander or Victor Cruz in free agency (both longshots, but I'm sick of our diva WR corps)

Draft Dee Milliner with the fourth overall pick (honestly, I'd prefer that they trade down for either more picks or a 2014 draft pick)...if not him, then Dion Jordan.

Sign a tackle for depth.

Trade Foles and draft EJ Manuel in the second/third round.

Looking good so far!

I am NOT happy about Barwin. THREE sacks last year... THREE!!! I think he just took Dion Jordan's spot outside (assuming that Graham covers the other) . Anyone one know if Barwin can cover at all? Welcome to the team Dee Milliner. I do like Casey Williams though. Just wish we could have gotten Sean Smith. I would have much rather taken Sean Smith for 6 mil a year rather than Barwin. Oh well. Now we need Vollmer or Andre Smith. Not bad so far Howie...

LOL.

Dude, the OLB's job is not to record sacks. His primary focus is used in pass coverage and run plays. If you've ever seen a Texans game in full, you'd know that Barwin poses a huge threat for the opposition.

Also, it's CARY Williams. Barwin can cover very well and is a great add, especially since the Eagles are shifting to the 3-4.

Cut Coleman first If I had to pick one, I'd go with Allen. But they're both trash really haha

Haha I meant Cary. I'm surprised the Texans don't use him to blitz if he had 11.5 the year before. Seems weird huh?

I'd assume it's because JJ Watt was getting the job done himself! No need to rush four men when you have JJ Watt serving the purpose of two people!

However, from what I observed last year, he rushed the QB a lot and made the QB make some bad throws a lot off their back foot.

Guarantee it will be a beneficial factor.

It's not that it's a bad signing, it's that I really want Dion Jordan, especially when Barwin isn't a sure thing. True he is only guaranteed 8 mil, but it's the fact that I don't like Milliner.

Huge benefit. Barwin is solid in coverage, can get to the qb and is pretty solid against the run. Really liking the starting linebacker group of Graham/Ryans/Kendricks/Barwin.

I see. I totally agree that I think he was overpayed, but it's better than our defense last year!

Sounds good except for Graham. Who knows if he can successfully play OLB. He was a possible 3-4 OLB coming outta college, but who knows where is speed and pass coverage is now. We better get a suitable backup in case he doesn't work out.
