Cleveland Browns Football News - NFL Coverage - cleveland.com

Quote:

The Browns have traded 2012 sixth-round linebacker Emmanuel Acho to the Eagles for reserve running back Dion Lewis, a league source confirmed for the Plain Dealer.

Acho, the 204th overall pick last year out of Texas, spent all of last year on injured reserve with a leg injury.

Lewis (5-7, 193) was a fifth-round pick of the Eagles in 2011 out of Pittsburgh. In two seasons, he's appeared in 24 games, rushing for 171 yards on 36 carries (4.8 average) and two touchdowns

These were obvious, but:

Philadelphia Eagles ‏@Eagles 17h
#Eagles have released the following four players: LB Ryan Rau, LB Marcus Dowtin, WR Ron Johnson and CB Chris Hawkins

I know almost every single player on the Eagles roster, but I didn't know those guys. So, good move!

Trent Edwards is gone

Foles - Kinne - Vick - Dixon are the QBs they've got.

Agreed. Thats why I am staying away from his cards, have a gut feeling he will end up with the Rams sometime down the road.

Lane Johnson thinks the Eagles like him at No. 4 | ProFootballTalk

Quote:

Two offensive tackles, Luke Joeckel of Texas A&M and Eric Fisher of Central Michigan, are expected to be Top 5 picks in next week’s NFL draft. But they may not be the only two.

Lane Johnson of Oklahoma, widely regarded as the third-best tackle in the draft, thinks he may be going to Philadelphia with the fourth overall pick. Johnson has had a lot of contact with the Eagles, both working out for them in his hometown of Groveton, Texas, and visiting their facilities in Philadelphia. And he told Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer that he thinks there’s a good chance he’ll be the Eagles’ first-round pick.

“It’s a good possibility,” Johnson said. “What they’re going to do offensively really fits what I excel at — up-tempo, zone offense. But you never know what’s going to happen come draft day.”

The 6-foot-6, 304-pound Johnson is a former quarterback who thinks fast and moves very well for a man his size, and those are good traits for Chip Kelly’s offense. For the Eagles, fourth overall may not be too high to take Johnson.
---Thoughts?

If we pick Lane Johnson I am going to personally start a riot in front of Jeff's house.

The guy isn't worth a top 10 pick. Our O-Line is not as a big of a hole as our D-Line.

I somewhat disagree. Only D players worth taking at 4 would be Jordan or Floyd that would fit us. If we go Star we'd have to trade back a few. At this point I have no issue with taking any of those 3 OTs.

I really don't see why you dislike Lane Johnson at the #4 pick.

I'm down for anyone not named Geno Smith a this point. I'm honestly torn between OT and DT, just don't really know much about the prospects to be honest. Hopefully they can grab a DB later and get good value out of him as well

Anyone think Kelly throws a curveball later and drafts Barner as our 3rd RB and dumps Polk?

Draft is tomorrow, at this point I'm hoping they get Lane Johnson or Shariff Floyd.

Edit: For those who don't know, Floyd grew up in Philly and went to HS there

Floyd and Fletcher Cox as 3-4 DE's.... has a nice ring to it

I don't think so. Just read an article saying that Polk is going to be more involved in the offense next year. If they take a RB, it will probably be in the fifth or sixth round...if it at all.

I'd rather have Lotulelei than Floyd. Floyd is a big boom/bust candidate, and if we're switching to the 3-4, we need someone who can take on two guys on a consistent basis.

Read a report that the Eagles are down to four players to pick (if they don't trade). They are:

Eric Fisher
Lane Johnson
Star Lotulelei
Dion Jordan

I've seen at least two different people say the Eagles are down to 4 possible picks, each person said different people. Just like everyone said Joeckell is going #1 and yesterday Glazer goes on Twitter saying Eric Fisher will be #1.

I hope Polk is cut and we pick up a RB in the later rounds. If we can get Giovanni Bernard in the 2nd-3rd round, I'd say that's a good pickup. Plus as long as Brown can hold onto the damn ball, that wouldn't be a bad lineup.
