Default If each team was a Hobby product- Day 1: Seattle Seahawks

I thought this would be a fun thread. I'll do one of these every day, feel free to comment/make your own/fight in the thread.

Today's team is the Seattle Seahawks. What product are they?

Panini Prizm!

Why, you might ask?

They're cool and brand new to the scene (as far as relevance). So far, everything looks good, but the people who love the brand go overboard and say it's the best thing since sliced bread. It's also still a notch under the elite stuff (Chrome), especially because of how short-lived it has been. The Chrome-lovers can't stand how annoying the Prizm folks get, it's basically Old Money vs. New Money.

So, what product do you think the Seattle Seahawks are?

I like the comparison a lot. I'll beat the rush and just say the Bills are Topps total or even 1991 Pro Set.

The Seahawks are the 2013 version of Rookies & Stars.

Unpredictable from year to year. They bumped up the "style" and sometimes they can be a little tacky. They could do better this year than last, but they're too loud/flashy for some people. Regardless, this year is a decider for the product's future direction.

I'd say the Redskins are Panini Prizm, for many of the reasons you mentioned. One solid year, but it won't be a constant. New, revitalized, values winning. They just can't repeatedly stand up to others like my Cowboys/Topps Finest.

The Eagles get to be Topps Magic. They try year after year, but you wonder why they're still around...

2012 Bowman Signatures= Kansas City Chiefs

Their defense was like the veteran content, not bad not great.
Their offense was like the rookie content, what the hell were they thinking with that?

Maybe my Bears are a little like Bowman Sterling. Flashes of greatness but overall just average.

Dallas Cowboys: Prime Signatures. Hit or miss, but worth the risk.

No, you will see. Panini Prizm IS on the ascend. I am a Topps man, but Panini is better than Topps. I wish it were not so, but it will soon be evident.

I think it's just way too early to tell.

The value of 2012 Chrome high end hits and 2012 Prizm doesn't seem close at all. I guess they can slowly bridge the gap, but I don't think the current design will cut it...

Hate to say it, but the Patriots.

Solid every year. Made the big game 5 of the last 11(?) years. Consistent, high powered branding. Solid bet every season. One caveat. Their competition (division) is weak.

Yep. And let me nominate the Browns for Sage HIT... right down to no logo.

Don't know what I'd say for the 49ers. Maybe their recent success could be tied to their legacy, matching them with...Finest? National Treasures?

Bears= Any new release. Prices start out really high, and it becomes the next big thing, but slowly descends to second rate in a few months.

Philadelphia Eagles - 2013 Bowman Chrome Football

2013 Bowman Chrome definitely has the potential to look good with its flashy, refractory design. Yet, their failure to represent rookies in their NFL uniforms is certainly its downfall...

Same goes with the Eagles. They have the talent, ability, and roster to have a great team. However, usually one discrepancy always leads to a poor outcome.
