It seems like yesterday that the season hadn't yet begun and there were rumors flying around the Vikings possibly signing Brett Favre. I didn't believe that they were true, and if they were, that he would ever decide to come here. I wasn't in favor of it on the basis of him having a bad year in NY last year, and his arm having nothing left in it. I figured the Vikes would be worse off for it if they did sign him, that he couldn't stay healthy, and that he would throw tons of interceptions and have another terrible season.
When he finally did agree to sign, and it appeared his arm would be OK, I started to believe, but there was still a lot to prove. In the first regular season game he did not look great, and I began to doubt that he could bring anything worthwhile. But then things started to smooth out. He began to throw more than just short passes effectively, and then started to throw with the best accuracy he has thrown in years. The Vikings season was very solid, and we couldn't have gotten this far without Favre. All along the reason the Vikes cited for bringing him here was to get them to the Superbowl. Favre even suggested as much on several occasions. As I write this we are about two hours away from the kick off of the NFC Championship Game versus the Saints. Rewinding back to the beginning of the season I recall thinking that I wouldn't believe it if this day ever came, and now it has come. It feels a bit like a dream to me. Will we advance to the Superbowl or will our season end today? I'm surprisingly calm about it, though I should be a nervous wreck. The Saints have a heck of a team, and I have a ton of respect for them, and not because of hurricane Katrina or any other hardships that that town has gone through. I just think it's very impressive what they've accomplished this season, and I like Drew Brees because he is so talented and seems to be a class act. I'm looking forward to a great game today. I'm predicting the Vikings will win by 7 points. It might be a surprising game. I do not expect a blowout on either side. What are your predictions?

I also predict a Vikings win, although I'm biased because i'm a fan. Peterson will be a large factor in this game, bacause all of the doubters, and because NOs rush defense has been suspect all season. I believe that Farve truly believes that he DID NOT come this far to lose! I had hope in the offseason when I heard the news on Favre signing with Minnesota. I didn't believe/side with the doubters andhave had faith all along!
