He's a bum who is just training camp meat. He will basically be competing with Brian Leonard for a 3rd String RB/FB/Power guy basically. Leonard's not great at anything but him and Hillis will be in direct competition for 1 spot. Leonard should come out on top.

Hillis has fumbled 13 times in 4 years. Our coach just does not allow turnovers, especially from backup/rotational players. One of the main reasons he didn't like LGB is his fumbling. Blount fumbled last year and we didn't see him for like 3 games. Doug's only fumble of the year should have been a TD it was right on the goalline, he was over IMO. Coach pulled him for the next series or 2.

Hillis = fumbling machine who probably gets cut during camp

Not sure about him being camp Meat . Bucs really have nothing at the moment after DM. So If Hillis comes in and shows some promise then i think we keep him. That way Smith and James can learn some more.

So they got rid of Blount for an older white version of him?

Again that's the same thing KC said after Charles - and he was worthless.

Joe Thomas might be the nicest human being on the planet - and the only person he has ever spoken out against publically as being a giant pain in the a** is Hillis - that tells you something.

when joe thomas refers to someone as "toxic" then i'd stay away. thomas has to be one of the nicest guys in the league

From what i read on that story was he was playing for a big contract . That ended up back firing on him. I say give him a chance The Bucs are in a better place than KC and the Browns. So maybe a team that has a chance to win will work wonders on this guy.

Like i said in the Weeden thread,
We live in NOW times in the NFL Hillis was a beast that season but he got derailed it doesnt mean there is any way he can get back to form.
He can be a good H-Back-FB Hybrid type player and probably clear some pretty good holes for Doug Martin

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Blount is dumber than a box of rocks. He could do nothing but run maybe three plays.

Anybody is an upgrade.

Blount was terrible. He reminded me of Brandon Jacobs. Both huge and they had some impressive plays where they just steamrolled people but for some reason they barely ever used their bulk. It took Blout WAY to long to get up to speed and he spent most of his time tiptoeing behind the line of scrimmage. He was one of the worst short yardage RBs I've ever seen. I assume the deal is for next to nothing so I'm all for bringing him in since the Bucs RB depth is pretty weak.
