Default Ebay Global Shipping?

What's up with this? I have it marked so I do not sell to anyone outside of the US. A buyer wins an item I have. His address shows up as KY. Nothing fishy, print the label, ship the item. Find out that he is outside of the country, and that address is for the global shipping place. Is this Ebay's way of not letting us pick and choose where we are willing to ship? Is this package tracked all the way?

I believe at some point you had to opt into the global shipping program.

There is a way to opt out, but Ebay keeps defaulting it back so you have to check often. If you ship to Kentucky, that is where your responsibility is supposed to end according to Ebay, but we are talking about Ebay.

This just happened to me. I had a Canadian buyer purchase an item and have had US only shipping preference since I started selling on eBay.

Some how it got turned on all of my listings and I had to manually go in and turn it off. Not sure how it happened buy i had 250 items that shipped all over the world. Coulda been a mess.

Buyer was understanding and accepted cancel with positive feedback

I tried it recently with a $100 card, we'll see what happens. I already got a lot of flack from the buyer regarding eBay's price to ship from KY to Canada. So I anticipate taking a hit on DSR's.

From eBay...

You’re protected from negative or neutral feedback resulting from your item getting lost or damaged in international transit. Detailed seller ratings for shipping and handling charges and shipping time that are below five won’t count against your seller performance standards.

I also got a ton of flack for Global Shipping Program costs (customs + global priority), so I went back to shipping via First class International and Global Priority. I am also insuring for everything over $25 via Inkfrog which is pretty good.

I sold an item to someone in Canada and had no issues at all. Worked great, didn't have to figure out any shipping costs, Global Shipping did it for me. So far I like it!

HERE Soon EBAY is converting all international transactions to global shipping.

Why wouldn't they? it's a major cash grab for them!

Is it an APO by any chance? APO is a Military Address overseas. Its the exact same price as domestic the only difference is you will need a customs form but nothing else and no added expense.

You don't even need a customs form if it is under 13 ounces according to my PO.

That is true but I forgot that fact bc our military po over here makes us do customs forms for anything not in a pwe. I always ship bubble mailers so they always have me do a customs form lol
