Lightbulb 2013 Topps Chrome Player Auction : Thoughts/interest?

So, I see the baseball people doing all these successful player auctions with Bowman Draft (scroll down past all the payment totals in the 1st post):

http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/b...ction-1-a.html

I was wondering, why couldn't we do it for Topps Chrome FB, too? It's the only product I'm actively looking forward to being released and I think it lends itself quite well to this type of break. I'd personally love to just bid on the player spots that I'm interested in.

It'd probably have to be tweaked a little since Bowman Draft baseball is a different product, but I think it could work.

Do people think that there would be enough interest? Any thoughts/input about how it could be done successfully?

I've toyed around with trying this. I love the idea. I can't see hosting it as for me it would be a nightmare to sort. I'm in if someone else (credible) does it.

I like the ideal better then player draft.

Not a modern rc collector at all, and bought one spot on draft. So not sure what to do if I get a top 34 pick, as with one, you should choose a rc (with auto cards), but more interested in a couple vets myself.

I wouldn't mind paying for just my PC player or maybe a couple others.

I would be interested in bidding for some of the Pats spots.

Great idea, except TOMB has been trying to fill a player draft for weeks. Doesn't look like the FB guys are into the "player" format like the baseball guys are.

I saw that and was toying with changing the format up a little bit.

Instead of a complete player draft I was thinging if 1 slot for every Rookie and then 1 slot for the team cards minus the RC's

Would be 109 slots for the Rookies and 32 slots for the teams.
Starting every slot at $4 with $2 1 or $2 bumps should leave some room for "profit" and more boxes.

People bid on players in an auction format. Or you can just random them.

I don't think theres as many big spenders involved in football...I have kept my eye on it and it seems people are either waiting to deadline bid...or just not buying in

I hope that's the case. I'm very happy paying the current prices for the spots I've got. 20 cases is 240 autos. Even with the sps, you should get at least a couple autos of each rookie...

interesting i threw in a bid but curious if i got this right.

So you bid on a player and get everything of that player? Base/ parallels/ 1/1's (super plate if pulled)

Just spent my money on boxes from blowout instead as I didn't think this would hit the breakeven point by the deadline.
