Default What is the BEST/SAFEST way to ship...

A $3,000 card via eBay. Looking to save myself from troubles with a buyer making a claim for any reason.

As nice as it would be to pull some crazy card like that, I almost never want to because I'd just be too afraid of selling a card like that online and then having to ship it. I think I'd just take like $500 less and sell to someone at a local show and let them deal with the headache.

Obviously ship insured, but I've heard if you say there are like diamonds in the package, you get even better and more secure transportation through the post office, basically kept under lock and key

fedex would probably be the best option.
I don't trust the USPS any further than I can throw them, and Grace says with my bad knee, I shouldn't throw anybody

Haha that's how I feel with my card. No need for me to have something that expensive in college. I'm thinking I'll sell it for unlimited beer money.

Have you not sold it yet?

Honestly, if you haven't, $2,000-2,250 is still a ton of money for a college kid, just sell it to someone at a show or an LCS and let them deal with any hassle

The last card I sold for this range (2.3k), I shipped it USPS in one of those small flat rate boxes. Packaged the card in a bubble envelope then securely inside the flat rate box. Shipped overnight with insurance and signature confirmation.
That should cover most foreseeable problems.

What card is it just out of curiosity?

I've gotten some high end cards that were shipped just like a poster above, protected inside a bubbler and the bubbler inside a flat rate box. Seemed to do the trick!

USPS priority overnight.
Magnetic with tamper proof seal put in the terms that if the seal is removed from the magnetic then you will not issue a refund.

I shipped a Puig red refractor auto /5 recently for $5.5k to Canada. I shipped via UPS and they had to call to get approval to insure for that amount. I required a signature and we didn't have any issues. Inside the package I had the card in a magnetic, team bag with two pieces of cardboard, then wrapped all of that in a roll of bubble wrap. When they see a large amount of insurance they handle the package with better care is what the manager told me. Hope this helps.

About $160 total, it made it there within 5 days. 1-2 days of that was holding in customs.

Ebay and paypal do not care a bit about a tamper proof seal.
