Default 07 contenders or 08 gridiron gear?

My lcs has some boxes of both coming in tomorrow and I told him I will buy one of the two, but im not sure which to get. obviously if i like autos (and a chance at AP) i go for contenders. I do enjoy a nice patch auto now and then so gridiron gear might be nice. which box would you pick if you were in my position?

Personally go with 08 Gridiron Gear...07 Contenders are really weak unless you hit a big player, which is not that common!

I would say it depends on price. Both are Donruss/Panini so no issues with me. Both rookie classes are solid, so once again no issues.

Contenders as you know is autos, and your more than likely going to get 3 blahs and one ok to great auto per box. Gridiron gear has some blah boxes, but each box typically has one really nice hit, sometimes two, but your looking at more being patches/relics. Contenders has probably better resell/long term value since your dealing with rookie autos, but you may come out better off with the gridiron gear since patches and/or relics can command a premium (either in sale or trade).

If you like to roll the dice, go with Contenders because of the AP chance. Opening boxes is a big gamble anyhow but Id go with Contenders, Gridiron gear is fun too but if u want a chance at a big big hit, go with contenders or if you want 1 auto, good or bad, and a few jerseys maybe a patch, go with GG

the boxes cost the same amount, he is charging me $110 for either one i choose. I know i would get the better deal from blowout, but I dont mind helping out the local guys. no matter which box i buy, im going to keep wondeirng whats in the other box. last week he had a box of the new ufc product out and I bought 8 packs and didnt hit anything. I almost bought the box but I talked myself out of it. Later that day a guy came in and bought the rest of the box and hit the case hit duel auto and sold it for $350. i always second guess my actions because of nonsense like that.
