Default 2014 Leaf Best of Football Unopened

Sorry, but this seem like a terrible idea to anybody besides me???

You never know what box you might get, and then there is the assumption that you won't get a huge hit from that 2000 SPA Box. I know people will buy it, but I think it is a rotten deal for the consumer.

I really appreciate the lengths Leaf goes to compete without a license. Their sketch autos, Metal cards, HS autos, and Trinity glass are about as good as unlicensed cards can possibly be.

I agree that this seems like an incredibly risky buy for a collector. I'll stick to my singles. (Which include a few Metal autos every year.)

there is also a chance you get 2010 Topps Chrome…or worse…and even then you aren't likely to pull a Bradford or decent rookie hit.

So there is a gamble to even busting a box, and in this box there is a second gamble on which box you are going to get?

Waxception.

I like your idea in your signature of building Chrome sets.

Busting regular wax seems like a big enough gamble for me, add into that a second gamble and that is too much gambling for me!!!

I saw those boxes and was like "WTH?" You guys are worried about getting a box of a terrible brand.

MY worry as I read the description was "yeah so i'll send you some money for a box that you bought from who knows where that may have been resealed?" No way would I touch that is what I said after reading it lmao.

Couldn't agree more. How many people bust a case until they reach the case hit and sell the rest from there. This just seems like a TON of disappointment, but obviously some will buy because they have wholes in their pockets.

Leaf probably just send you the box on the card you get.

This is exactly how it will work, and you guys are smart, you won't open the box you do redeem, immediately dump it. Opening a box of 1998 Contenders seems pretty cool, don't do it. Just don't.

It looks like they're asking about $167/box. It might be worth it to me for a chance at an older box AND the cut auto. Perhaps, at the least, they'll pair a decent cut auto with a less-than-desirable box.

I would venture to guess that every pack is a Cut auto and a redemption, then Leaf ships out your box once it is redeemed. this would even out the weigh/shape issue

I am a sucker for products with full boxes in them.. I just wish it wasnt a cut auto. Give me some random cards much like Superbox and a full box not some plain looking cut auto with no picture of a player who 95% of the time is still alive.

Didn't Brian Gray say that getting a license from MLB, NBA, NFL, etc was stupid? Anyone else find it interesting that for someone who thinks licensed cards are so "stupid", he sure doesn't mind buying up those licensed cards to sell his products.

Yeah, except those Superboxes are a total ripoff.

It's stupid expensive to have a license.

I watched a few breaks of this from Chris and it looks awful. Plus I would NOT buy any of this that wasn't in a sealed case. It is too easy in my opinion to figure out by weight which box could be inside.

I don't see anything on the sell sheet that makes me want to break this. Can purchase several of those boxes on the sell sheet for the price of the 6 box case. I see a 98 Contenders sold for $400, a 2000 SP Authentic for under $300, etc. No thanks.

I think it is interesting that a company that claims they don't need or for that matter want a pro license depends on those other companies that do in order to make a profit...

Interesting idea, and I'm not surprised at all Leaf is doing this.
