Default Thoughts on Junior Seau Sticker Autos in 2013 NT?

Seau died in May 2012. Panini is still producing Seau Autograph Sticker cards, like in 2013 NT. Am i the only one who thinks this isn't really right or is in poor taste?

I get that they had sticker Autographs left over, but spacing his Autos out years after his death just doesn't seem right. All of the sticker Autos they have left of Seau should have been in products during the months after his death, not spaced out for 2-3 products per year (like they've been since his death)

It just seems strange to me. Cut Autos are of course fine long after a guy has passed away, but putting a guy's sticker Autos in products 2 years after his death just doesn't seem "right". I'm not saying it's that a big of a deal, but I think Panini should get constructively criticized for this a bit. Curious for other people's thoughts on this.

There are still people who collect him, and are hoping to see him in newer products. The other option was to sticker dump all his autos into the first release after his death. I am ok with the way it is being handled

Panini is doing a good thing by producing these cards. What are they supposed to do destroy those stickers? They're giving Seau fans more opportunities to get an autograph. Seau was beloved and didn't have a ton of autographs out there and I being a Chargers fan know this is great for fans and collectors.

Tons of dead guys get autos in products, whether it be sticker or cut or otherwise. This shouldn't be any different.

I'm not really one to believe in the "too soon" stuff when it comes to the death of a celebrity, in any field of work.

I feel as if they're honoring a fan favorite, even if profit is involved. No issues here.

Why would Panini flood their products with his autos right after his untimely death? To me, it seems much more stupid to dump all his autos at once than to spread them out. I'd much rather see a bunch of different Seau cards than have a couple thousand Prestige or R&S autos.

I don't see what the difference is between a sticker auto and a cut auto. It's literally the exact same thing. It is something the person signed before they died. The only difference is they cut it off of something instead of peel and stick it to a card.

OK, I guess I'm alone in my thinking. But as a 2nd Q - Would it eventually be in "poor taste" or not right? Like in 2018 NT, would it be OK if Panini still put out Sticker Autos of Junior Seau ?

I guess it seems more "strange" to me than "not right" because when you see sticker Autos in products, you immediately think "This guy signed these specifically to put onto cards and/or this product" ... But of course Seau couldn't have signed them in the past 2 years - Just an odd/strange feeling to open up a box and see a sticker Auto of a deceased guy

I don't have any issues with them using the signature of the deceased on a newer product.

I don't think it will ever be an issue.

Topps has been making Gary Carter and Duke Snider autograph cards in the past few years.

There is nothing wrong with it at all...

What's the difference between that and a cut of Unitas or Payton? He signed these items with the intent of them being used.

Way over thinking this IMO.

I agree that I'm over-thinking it a bit probably. As I've said, it's different from a Cut simply because when you see a sticker, you know the athlete signed these specifically for these companies and to put into cards (Or as you said , he "signed these items with the intent of them being used") - Cuts aren't like that at all.

But again, evident from my thinking above, I agree I'm thinking a little too deep into it . I agree w/ everyone that it's not a big deal - Just wanted to point it out. I am still of the opinion that Panini should put all the remaining stickers in packs within the next year.

If they would of done this, I think that would of been in worst taste IMO.
