Default The Pros & Cons of Panini's NFL Exclusive

Pros

A closer interaction with the NFL and its players. More game used instead of event worn.

Cons

Less creativity on products (bland designs).
more stickers.
higher prices.
decreased change and listening to consumers opinions.
More reward points.

Cons

losing finest chrome and topps jumbos... my favs

Pro..

Less products like baseball... Prices of boxes will go up after release...

But knowing Panini they will be allowed to make 40 products...

So might not be a pro...

If they only make 15 products It might help

I thought the thread was a joke when I saw pros and cons.

If the auto isn't on-card, it might as well be in-person.

I guess the only pro would be that Topps' final products might be LOADED?

I laid it all out here. There are very few pros other than the stability Panini provides in their cash flow.

Having the NFLPI, is that different than having exclusive NFL rights for cards?

I just can't see any pros with a company having a monopoly in the card hobby especially after what I have seen for basketball.

Pros: I'm gonna save a lot of money.

Cons: I have to find a new hobby.

But seriously,

Pros:
50 cent packs

Cons:
-The best football product has been snuffed out via monopoly
-Panini will either have to come up with several new bad designs or the cost of boxes will rise or they will just increase production on te products they have now.
-no competition means no reason to try

Oh god.. I can't wait to see Panini attempt to churn out even less creative inserts and subsets. Get ready to see stuff a long the lines of "band of brothers" and what not...

Pros:
less product flooding the market
Possibly less stickers and more on-card due to players having to sign less
More game-used
Possibly more fan interaction events
Able to take more chances with product since they aren't competing
Low cost products to bring in new collectors
Value of Topps singles/boxes could go up

Cons:
No comparable products, so prices may go up
Singles currently don't sell as well in most products, could change though
No more Chrome or Finest
Rewards points, but possibly less since may be easier to get sigs
More complaining on BO forums

There will be just as many products if not more.

Not true. Check BK. 90% of Panini products have a price drop in less than a month.

Yes. We all can just collect pre 2016 cards. I may just do that. Buy and trade cards before the exclusive.

These are all speculations and you can't figure out the true pros and cons till after the 2016 season when Panini has no competition for a year with NFL logos

But for the sake of an argument:

Pros:
-Panini can take their time with products rather then worrying if Topps will drop a better product first
-With the one above possibly comes more on card autos and less stickers
-Panini can pull back and take some products away since they won't be fighting with Topps and getting a product launched around the same time Topps did
-Revamping of Prizm to look like Chrome (already almost the same feel) just slim down the border around the cards and use actual pictures and ON CARD autos and it's just another Topps Chrome
-Topps puts 100% focus on Baseball and gives up on Football and the baseball market gets the best they have seen in awhile

Cons:
-No Topps Chrome unless it's an airbrushed version aka just another Bowman
-Upper Deck still isn't getting back into the NFL game (a lot of people were praying this would happen)
-Topps now puts out a dozen more different Baseball products to make up for the loss in football

I don't think so

The only reason they do that now is because Topps was too. They were both trying to beat the other with a new product release
