Default Broncos Release Brandstater

Profootballtalk is reporting it.

Kind of surprised they outright released him. Somebody will pick him up.

Well, with Orton, Quinn, and Tebow, there really isn't room for him. Not really surprising to me at all. I highly doubt they could have gotten anything in return for him...

Brandstater is good... A lot better than Quinn and maybe Tebow too. He will be picked up.

I'm not surprised he got released. I think everyone knew he would be the odd man out. I'm just surprised he wasn't moved or at least initially placed on the practice squad.

I guess if they were going to trade him, the time to do that would have been during the draft after they drafted Tebow.

He was gonna be good learning from mcdownsyndrome. I am getting so frustrated with the Broncos, I liked Brandstater, He was gonna learn and be a solid player I thought. They need to release Mcdownsyndrome from their coaching position is what needs done, this guy is a retard

If the other 3 QBs were veterans, placing Brandstater on the practice squad might make sense (of course, he'd have to clear waivers first before they could do that; another team could claim him first). But everybody knows that Tebow is their QB of the future (for better or for worse)...

for worse. I still think Brady Quinn has a chance. Once they realize Tebow can't pitch, they'll put him behind Quinn in the backfield. But in front of Knowshon.

what makes everyone think Brandstater is going to be so good? Sure he's a big guy, but lots of guys who can't play quarterback are. He was an average QB at Fresno State, he's supposed to be awesome at the pro level? I'm confused.

Ditto. What, did he have a good preseaon last year against opposing 3rd and 4th string defenses? At least Teabow performed at a super high level on the biggest stages and against the best competition during his college career. Who knows, he might just be the next Steve Young.
