Default Official Houston Texans Thread 2014 Season

NFL season starts tomorrow with the HOF Game in Canton, OH. Figured I'd make this thread for all Texans talk.
Talk about all moves, positions, schedule, and rookies.

Go Texans!

Excited about the new faces. Joe Adams might give us a capable KR/PR (no more K-Mart please), Alfred Blue is the definition of untapped potential and an athletic specimen (reminds me of Arian), and Andre Hal is looking like a late round gem. Definitely gonna be fun to watch their development.

Oh and of course WATT & CLOWNEY. Have absolutely dominated camp thus far from what I've read

Start Keenum over Fitzpatrick... The End... J/K... It will be cool to watch Clowney and Watt chasing down QBs at the same time, that's for sure...

I was very much hoping Keenum would get the starting spot but I guess he hasn't done enough to impress B.OB I trust the man but still Ryan Fitzpatrick

How has Foster looked this summer? What will the upcoming season look like?

Rick Smith has been hit or miss. He's brought in some major talent (although I won't give him full credit for JJ) but he's also whiffed on a number of occasions (last years 3rd rounders) I'm kinda indifferent when it comes to him.

If you go through each draft and look for contributing players in the NFL at this moment and it it low....very very low. He is terrible IMO

Hamstring has been a minor issue but he looks good from what I've read. The defensive front is gonna be fun to watch but the secondary is a bit of a question mark. The offensive is gonna have some good position players (AJ, Foster, Hopkins) but the inconsistent offensive line is what worries me the most, more so than QB. Their play will dictate how the season unfolds.

I'd say 7-9 might be expected +\- a couple of games depending on health, QB play, etc.

You make a good point. I was honestly surprised he wasn't shown the door last year with Kubiak. Hopefully this years draft will not follow suit.

Late 1st rounder IMO O'Brien loves versatility in his RB's so Arian will be getting plenty of touches on the ground and through the air.

He also won't have anyone taking touches from him as long as he's healthy. A true RB1

Figured it wouldn't happen, Fitz and Savage were both hand picked by Obrien... So of course they get preference... Let's see if Case gets another shot once they realize they screwed up with those asinine choices...

I'm an Eagles fan but very interested to see how the Texans' D does with developing Clowney. If he lives up to full potential he could be quite the duo with Watt. Unfortunately I don't foresee a whole lot of overall success with Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm. Still should be a fun year.

Yes and no...this team needs a quarterback, and I believe in being really good or really bad. That middle of the pack bs doesn't help you get better. However, I feel as long as rick smith is the personnel guy this team will struggle...we've needed a back up middle linebacker for two years because of Cush and we get stuck with mike Mohamed and Jeff tarpinian...this team has no depth.
