2008 Topps Chrome FB 12 Box Case for $780???

780 pre-sell for a case?? wow, pretty steep considering last year started around 675. what makes this stuff so special? for 65.00 a box you can still get 2007 topps chrome. i was looking at buying a ton of 2008 topps chrome fb & 2008 bowman chrome baseball but the prices are sure jacked up. did topps increase the direct price?

no, topps did increase the price (at least not by much). this is the way all presells usually go for Blowout. wait until mid August to order the Chrome Football. it should be right around $53/box if you by by the case.

ive bought pre-sells for years & never remember chrome anywhere near 800 initially. i figured it would have started around 700.

Topps Chrome the past few years has been a great investment. I'm interested in pre-purchasing a couple of cases this year. Is there any reason that this year would be any different than the past couple of years? (draft class, timing of release, etc...)

If the price on a case falls down to $650, you would almost have to buy a case or 2. People seem to love the stuff as far as resale.

Speaking of the blowout emails, have they not had any weekend specials the last 2 weeks or so?

Well, I've just never seen anything from Blowout with a quantity discount so I was just wondering. I get that email from them on Fridays but it only lists prices for a box or case. Oh, and yes, they haven't been having weekly deals. Plus, I noticed there Blowout Bonus Days link is gone.

I had noticed that too. I ordered a case a few weeks ago. It could be just that football will be right around the corner now that August is here.

You've got football starting up (even preseason) which will start peaking interest in fb products again plus the annoucement of the patches. First time this will be in a chrome product if I'm not mistaken...or someone liked the previous price and bought 10 cases eliminating Chris "stock" and he had to purchase more, if his costs go up, our costs go up.

I know that 2002 Topps Chrome had gridiron patches and Superbowl goal post relics in it.

its gotta be that football is gearing up because those patches were announced over two months ago. was just curious if there was anything out there (content or supply-wise) that sparked the 10%+ bump.

Those patch auto rcs will be nice, however dont expect to hit one as im sure topps will water down the product so they fall one every ten cases.
