Default Can Ohio State lend Cleveland a Quarterback?

It's beginning to get ridiculous... 4 star QB Tristen Wallace (Class of 2016 - 6'3', 228 pounds, runs a 4.4 40) just committed to the Buckeyes today.

Braxton Miller - Heisman Candidate when playing
JT Barrett - Heisman Candidate when playing
Cardale Jones - NCG winning QB and you'd have to imagine Heisman Candidate
Stephen Collier - 3 Star QB that's currently 4th string
Joe Burrow - Mr. Ohio for Football. 4 Star Class of 15
Torrance Gibson - 5 Star Class of 15 (#1 QB in HS depending on who you read)
Tristen Wallace - 4 Star Class of 16
Danny Clark - 5 Star Class of 17
Bruce Judson - 4 Star Class of 17

What a beautiful, horrible problem to have.

And, no!

It's not our fault that your starter would be like 7th string.

Which would still have his NFL career cut short due to being drafted by the cleveland Browns.

Probably not... although you've got local boys.

In all seriousness (and yes I'm cracking on my own team) - Manziel, if he had stayed in college and hypothetically played at Ohio State, would be like 3rd string at this point. Probably 4th if Braxton was healthy.

That's embarassing as a Browns fan and ridiculous as a Buckeyes fan.

Torrance Gibson was dropped from 5 star status long before signing day.

Depends on who you read.

Which is about the farthest thing from the point. I appreciate the update though.

Why would you wish that on any quarterback?

Such a mistake to put Browns in the Title. It's like I'm new to Blowout. Idiot.

Somehow what is supposed to be an Ohio State thread turned into a Browns thread.

And by somehow I used the magic words. Cleveland Browns.

Gee, you seem pretty annoyed by me bringing that up. I guess I'll keep going then.

How is the rating of a OSU QB the "farthest thing from the point" when you're talking about how awesome OSU's QBs are? That IS the point when you include him on the list as a 5* recruit. Everyone but ESPN, who has the worst reputation of the big four recruiting sites, dropped him out of 5* territory a long time ago. One of the worst kept secrets in recruiting last year was the fact that a lot of programs backed away from Gibson entirely, and that most considered him a receiver instead of a QB.

Cool story. Appreciate it. He'll clearly be beat out by Wallace, Clark, or Judson then.

My question is....why would a QB commit to this backlog? You aren't even going to get a look for 2-3 years, and when you do you are going up against at least 3 other similar type players. A great situation for OSU fans, but how many of these kids that are genuinely talented are just going to rot on the bench?

These are 18 year old kids....seemingly not making the best long term decisions! Plus...when was the last QB to be tutored by Urbs ever successful in the NFL? Alex Smith is still trying to be respectable 10 years later.

Wait a minute - are you questioning not only the awesomeness of this but also the wisdom of all involved? Keep it up and tOSU nation will have to paint another fire hydrant with a Block M to restore their confidence in their own superiority!
