Default football - 2010 Topps Platinum 2 Case Break

Broke two cases of 2010 Topps Platinum on Sept. 17th, all hits are on eBay (except redemptions), $0.99 10 day no reserve. I don't end any auctions early.

NONE OF THESE CARDS ARE FOR SALE HERE. (they are on eBay)

The first case was an amazing case. 2nd was average. Here's the goodies from both cases:

- Colt McCoy Superfractor Patch & Auto 1/1
- Joe McKnight Auto RC Variation Printing Plate 1/1 (redemption)
- Tim Tebow 1 Color Patch/Auto /300
- Armanti Edwards Red Zone Rookie /100
- Colt McCoy 1 Color Patch/Auto /200
- Ryan Mathews Auto /400
- Ndamukon Suh 2 Color Patch/Auto /500
- Joe McKnight Black RC Patch/Auto /99 (redemption)
- Joe McKnight Patch/Auto /??? (redemption)
- Jonathan Dwyer 3 Color Patch/Auto /500
- Toby Gerhart 3 Color Patch/Auto /500
- Golden Tate 2 Color Patch/Auto /500
- Arrelious Benn 4 Color Patch/Auto /800
etc.

I pulled 16 multi colored patch/autos in two cases.

Collation on the base set is terrible. I was only able to build 6 complete base sets from two cases, whereas most cards I have an average of 15 per card, there were 10-11 #'s that only pulled 6-7-8. Collation on the Thick RC variation cards is terrible as well.

The only on card auto was the RedZone RC Auto of Armanti Edwards. However, the stickers are very well placed and not an eye sore, to me anyway.

Other than collation and too high a price tag, I think the product is amazing.

Pulling the superfractor was fun as hell. I noticed the superfraction before I saw what the card was. I knew it was the patch/auto superfractor because the card was thick. So I took my time and slowly pulled the top card back, and then BAM! Colt McCoy. Wow.

Amazing McCoy. Not much refractor color on the rest of the hits, but the Colt makes up for it

There were 5 blue, 4 blacks and 1 red refracted autos in the 2 cases, but not much of highly touted RCs... the best was the (redemption) black patch/auto /99 which I listed but didn't bother putting up a pic. So yeah, that could have been better.

Me no complain when me hit superfractor. Me happy.

Platinum being one of the few sets remaining where the RC base are pulled at the same rate of the vets, I find it very odd that Topps can't get collation right. They can obviously do it. 2009 Heritage Amr Heroes has absolutely perfect collation. Why they don't do it here is beyond me. It's not like we've got much other choice for building sets with RCs though...

At least none of my shorted base were RCs, all my shorts were vets that are really like, eh who cares...

I'll sell cards in team/player lots now. Having 18 Tebow base RCs is kinda nice.

Just realized you got the second 1/1. Kinda lame to have a redemption for a plate, but I guess if he hasn't signed them they probably haven't printed them yet

Refractor autos are numbered to 99, 999, 599, etc... The Superfractor is a GEN-U-WINE 1 of 1.

I've always wanted to pick up/pull a super some time, but even the scrubs go for $20 at the least it seems

Was the red zone auto added as a 4th auto to a box?

Good question. No, in this instance, the Red Zone Auto RC was 1 of the 3 auto's in a box.

All boxes produced the stated hits: 2 autos, 1 auto/patch.

Any McKnight refractors? And if you redeemed the McKnights already did they give you an eta or just their regular 6 month wait. Cause I'm buying them up and I haven't had the chance to redeem any yet.

Not to get off topic but I see you have a 93/94 Jordan Refractor up for sale. Man, those things were SO expensive back in the day.

I pulled some serious Joe McKnight:
- Autographed Printing Plate 1/1
- Autographed Black Refractor PATCH /99
- Autographed Refractor Patch Base /???
- Auto Rookie Base /???

These are all redemptions, pulled from the same case.

I've redeemed them all, Topps says delivery date of 01/01/2011.

Yeah, I pulled that refractor Jordan back in 1994 when I busted about a case of it in college. I've kept the card in my collection ever since, until now.

What did those Jordan's use to go for? I'm expecting $50-$75. One bad thing about them is they don't say "refractor" anywhere on the back of the card. That is a drag. I also pulled a Shaq refractor as well, that's also on eBay.

$200+ already with 9+ days to go on that McCoy superfractor. Wow. And McCoy is popular and all, but imagine the person that hits the Bradford, Bryant, etc. I will enjoy keeping an eye on this auction.

There is a Dez Superfractor already up on eBay, although the seller is really nuts not getting a pic up of the card:

2010 Topps Platinum DEZ BRYANT Autograph 1/1 RC SuperFr - eBay (item 120623006777 end time Oct-17-10 18:08:37 PDT)

And that's not a patch/auto superfractor, it's the auto superfractor. I think the patch/auto superfractors should bring more buckage.

The Bradford Patch/Auto Superfractor should bring in multi-thousands, right?

I completely agree that the patch/auto supers will bring in more, for sure. The auto supers are great, don't get me wrong, but the combination of super + auto + incredible patch is just crazy.

Hmmm, no pic of the Dez super auto? Odd. And stupid, frankly.

Bradford patch/auto super...a couple 000's I would think, yeah.

Crazy $$$ these things.

I'm not sure about the 93-94 one, but the 94-95 Finest refractor (the one where he is wearing #45) used to bring $1500 back in the day...

How much will the Tebow super patch auto bring? I'd say probably 4K or more
