I've been collecting since I was 4 years old. No joke, one of the first cards I pulled is included in this snapshot. It was three or four cards in, I'll let you guess which one it is.
If its a card everyone knows about, I'll just title it. Since I do a lot of oddball stuff, I'll describe the odd stuff. 1979-80 O-Pee Chee Gretzky ![]() 2003-04 Topps Traded Kari Lehtonen ![]() 2003-04 Topps Traded Kari Lehtonen Red Line #/100 ![]() 2003-04 Topps Traded Kari Lehtonen Goal Line #/50 ![]() 2003-04 Pacific Calder Kari Lehtonen RC #/775 ![]() 2003-04 Pacific Calder Kari Lehtonen RC Silver #/575- This is a tougher version of the previous card, but Beckett values it less. Try to find one now Beckett! ![]() 2003-04 Pacific Complete Kari Lehtonen RC- This came from a 100 card set in the Pacific Calder set. ![]() 2003-04 Pacific Complete Kari Lehtonen RC Red #/99- These fell one every two boxes of Pacific Calder, I thought I got a steal at $27, and I haven't see one since. ![]() 2002-03 Jokerit Kari Lehtonen ERC- This came from the Jokerit team set (I think). A buddy of mine who plays in the Euro league picked it up for me.

1994-95 Topps Finest Miikka Kiprusoff Refractor
![]() 1994-95 Topps Finest Miika Kiprusoff Stanley Cup- This came as part of a redemption with the winning Stadium Club Super Team Card (The Devils). There is a circle with the Stanley Cup in the corner. I don't know why they didn't make these refract. ![]() 1995-96 UD SP Daniel Alfredsson Holoview- These came 2 to a box and I think its a 60 card set, so this is not an easy one to get ![]() 1995-96 Upper Deck Jose Theodore Electric Ice Gold- Retail only, 1:30 packs, which meant you'd need to open 300 boxes to get a specific player. I paid $102 for it a few years ago and haven't seen another in two years. ![]() 1995-96 Upper Deck Jose Theodore Electric Ice Silver- Retail only, one in every pack, which meant you'd need to open a case to find one. ![]() 1995-96 Donruss Elite Jose Theodore World Junior Insert #/1000- These came two to a box in the Donruss Elite product, but again there were 60 of them. This card has a beautiful matte finish. ![]() 1996-97 Select Certified Patrick LaLime Mirror Red- 1:200 packs, I don't think anyone remembers how hard these were to find ![]() 1996-97 Flair Showcase Ice Blue Parallel Patrick LaLime- These were tough too. Not sure anyone remembers how hot LaLime was back then either. Keep that in mind when you dump big dollars into young goaltenders. I suck at taking my own advice though. ![]() 1997-98 Donruss Preferred Die Cut Marian Hossa RC- Its absurd how cheap this one is. The Cut To The Chase Die Cuts silvers came one every two boxes, so pulling one was a stroke of luck. I didn't pull it, so I had to buy it. ![]() 1997-98 Zenith Vincent LeCavalier RC- Underrated player, underrated card, these things were actually in 5 x 7 cards that you were supposed to tear open. Its amazing any of them grade well. ![]() 1997-98 Zenith Roberto Luongo RC

2004-05 Rimouski Oceanic Sidney Crosby- This came out of a team set distributed at the Rimouski home games. Liked him a lot more before he was a Penguin
![]() ![]() 2004-05 Rimouski Oceanic Sidney Crosby Insert- These came one in six team sets and it was one of six, so you needed to crack 36 sets to get one. I hit a BIN on eBay for $9, a steal I think. Card backs in this set are in French, but its still a gorgeous card. ![]() 2005-06 Parkhurst Sidney Crosby RC ![]() 2005-06 Ultra Sidney Crosby RC- This is one of those annoying SSPs, adn on top of it, I needed to crack four cases before I pulled one. Aggravating. ![]() 2005-06 Upper Deck Sidney Crosby Young Guns Rookie Card- Will be a $500 card one day. ![]() 2002-03 Alex Ovechkin Russian Dynamo- This was issued as part of a team set for the traveling Dynamo team. My friend who got the Lehtonen thought it would be smart to buy 100 of each of these sets and sell them to me in the states. 112003-03 Alex Ovechkin SL Liga- Another one of those goofy team sets. I don't think this one was licensed. ![]() 2003-04 Alex Ovechkin Young Lions- This came out of a Russian league all star set. Russian Ice produced it. I think its pretty ugly actually. ![]() 2002-03 Alex Ovechkin Young Lions- This came out when Ovechkin was starting to be mentioned as potential #1 draft pick in the NHL. Probably the best looking of the Russian Ice sets. I sold all but one set the week of the draft, I kept this one. ![]() 2005-06 Upper Deck Alex Ovechkin Young Guns- The best base rookie card of the best player in the NHL

2000-01 SPx Martin Havlat RC #/1500- It sickens me that this used to be $150 card. Thankfully I got it for $20, but I almost bought four for $500 during his rookie year... dodged that bullet.
![]() 2000-01 Russian Ice Ilya Kovalchuk- I got this in a trade. Not sure of year or origin. ![]() 2001-02 Bowman Pavel Datsyuk Gold #/250- Not sure how I wound up owning this but its pretty cool. ![]() 2001-02 Stadium Club Lone Star Signatures Ilya Kovalchuk- Difficult card to locate and probably the nicest of Kovy's autograph cards from his rookie year. ![]() 2001-02 Bowman Preview Ilya Kovalchuk Autograph- These were given out as part of a set at the fanfest in Washington to the first 300 people who opened a Bowman box in front of Topps reps. It was one per person. After the first 300 were redeemed, 200 more sets with an unsigned Kovy were redeemed. (If you have that version PM me) ![]() 2001-02 Bowman Ilya Kovalchuk Jersey- This came out of the box I used to get the redemption set. Its the only yellow one I've seen.

2007-08 Upper Deck Niklas Backstrom Young Guns Rookie- 20 years from now, we might be talking about Nik as the greatest player to ever put on a NHL uniform.
![]() 2007-08 Upper Deck Patrick Kane Young Guns Rookie ![]() 2007-08 Upper Deck Jonathan Toews Young Guns Rookie ![]() 2007-08 Upper Deck Carey Price Young Guns Rookie ![]() 2007-08 Upper Deck Carey Price Rookie Headliners- This is a weird one, because UD and Beckett call it an SP, but the card was at the top of those stupid fat packs at Target, so SP or not, all I had to do was look at the pack and I could see who was in there. ![]() 2007-08 SP Authentic Carey Price Holoview ![]() 2007-08 SP Authentic Carey Price Holoview Die Cut ![]() 2007-08 Upper Deck Ovation Carey Price RC- This came out of the Ovation Volume 4 tin set, the same set with Patrick Kane's rookie (Toews is in the update). These were only issued in Canada and it took me months to track the set down. ![]() 2008-09 Victory Erik Ersberg RC

2002-03 Upper Deck Young Guns Ryan Miller Rookie
![]() 2005-06 Hot Prospects White Hot Petr Prucha- If this guy ever gets on another team, he'll score 40 goals. I hear that Pittsburgh is looking to deal for him. I hope so, I have a ton of his other rookies. This one stays with me. ![]() 2005-06 SP Authentic Mike Green Rookie ![]() 2005-06 Upper Deck Mike Green RC- If you go through your Upper Deck Series 2 common bin, you might find one or ten of this kid's rookie cards. Best offensive defeseman in the league and his rookie card didn't even warrant Young Guns treatment. Nuts! ![]() 2006-07 Upper Deck Young Guns Paul Stastny Rookie

1995 Select Certified Terrell Davis RC- This used to be $150 card, I got it for a buck a few weeks ago. I think TD should be in the Hall of Fame. There is no Elway Super Bowl title without TD.
![]() 2000 Skybox Impact Tom Brady RC- Inexpensive but sharp looking rookie from what was an underrated line of sets in the late 90s. ![]() 2005 Bowman Red Refractor Kyle Orton RC- The bears are going to place all the responsibility for their troubles on this kid, but if they hadn't screwed him over two years ago he'd be much further along in his development. ![]() 2005 Bowman Alex Smith Autograph RC- SP autographs from this set only popped out once every two cases, but I got it in a box I haggled down to $32. ![]() 2007 Topps Chrome Adrian Peterson Rookie ![]() 2008 Topps Chrome Matt Forte RC Autograph- Briefly considered unloading this when they were going for $80, but now I'm buying them at $25 because I think they'll be $100 rookie cards down the line ![]() 2008 Topps Chrome Matt Forte RC Xfractor- Some butthole won this and didn't pay for it. Now its a keeper.

2008 Topps Chrome Matt Ryan
![]() 2008 Topps Chrome Matt Ryan Copper- This is actually the second one I pulled, I sold the other. ![]() 2008 Topps Chrome Matt Ryan Gold Refractor- I paid $5 for the topper pack and watched Chris (from the Allentown & Easton shows) nearly gag when I pulled it. ![]() 2008 Topps Chrome Matt Ryan Blue Refractor- 1:6 in retail boxes, rarer than the copper I think. ![]() 2008 Topps Chrome Matt Ryan Refractor ![]() 2008 Bowman Chrome Matt Ryan ![]() 2008 Bowman Chrome Copper Topper Matt Ryan ![]() 2008 Topps Kickoff Matt Ryan ![]() 2008 Upper Deck SP Rookies Matt Ryan ![]() 2008 Upper Deck SP Rookies 1993 Edition Matt Ryan- One of the nicest football set designs ever. Simple yet attractive. ![]() As you can see, Matt Ryan followed me around a lot this year, which is much better than being Klopfensteined.

1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr.- This was the card to get when I was a kid. I pulled one, and traded it for a 1980 Topps Set with Rickey Henderson's rookie in it. I was able to buy this gem for $25 at the Reading show last year.
![]() 1992 Donruss Rookie Phenoms Mike Piazza- These came four to a box of 1992 Donruss rookies, so one should have come out every three boxes... but there was nothing but crap in those boxes so it wasn't very popular. I paid $10 for this last year. ![]() 1997 Topps Stars Lance Berkman RC- The "other" rookie card set in 1997. This set had a nice design, but a weird odor, I think the finish they used was experimental. The smell is gone unless you open a fresh box. There is an ultra rare always mint parallel. If you have one PM me. ![]() 1998 St. Louis Cardinals Schedule with Mark McGwire on it- No this isn't a card, but this is a piece of my PC that I still look back on with fondness. Sure he was cranked up on steroids and we were pretty sure even back then, but the summer of 1998 in a suburb of St. Louis was unbelievable. Professors were canceling classes to see if he would hit 62. I was sitting in the student union at SMSU when that little doink of a home run, maybe 350 feet, dribbled just over the fence. That was one heck of a day. As an aside, if you couldn't score that night, you were hopeless. ![]() 1999 Topps Chrome Matt Holliday refractor ![]() 2002 Topps Pristine David Wright RC- I have other Wright rookies in my PC, but this is by far the nicest looking. If you have the gold version (of this card only) and want to unload it, please PM me. ![]() 2003 Topps Pristine Robinson Cano RC ![]() 2003 Bowman Chrome John Maine Refractor RC
