Default First BGS Submission

Got this back from Beckett today. Pretty happy with the grading service and got 9.5 GEM on the first submission.

Nice looking card! I just got the grade for my first grading experiment (PSA) but I have to admit, the Beckett holders and labels sure are slicker looking.

ND3, this may need to be another thread but what made you pick BGS over PSA?

BGS tends to grade tougher than PSA does. So people tend to use and buy BGS over PSA and others. For whatever reason though, PSA seems to be the benchmark for anything vintage though.

BGS tends to be tougher on the grading of cards which usually translates to a higher value.

Yes, vintage stuff is mostly PSA. I think BGS is used for modern stuff due to the subgrades...in that, brand new cards need to be nitpicked finer to make up discernible differences between them.
