I finally have power back on. What a long story I could tell. We are all doing fine. We have a wood-burning stove for heat, (thank goodness), and gas hot water heaters, so we were actually comfortable. Had several people staying with us, and many others that would come by for showers, and soup we could heat up on the wood stove. The power company actually did a great job restoring power to so many people as quickly as they did. They hired in 1200 different trucks from 20 different states and over 1000 powerline workers who worked around the clock to get everyone up and running again. Many, many thanks go out to them for they were away from their families for quite a while as well. My parents are still without electricity, and they are saying possibly another week or so. They are doing fine too though as they also have wood to burn. Thank you guys so much for your thoughts and prayers. There is truly an incredible group of people on this board. I want to also thank Ken for posting this thread and calling a few times to check up on us. I will update in a couple of days with some incredible pictures when I get caught up, (17 pages of new posts on Blowout forum alone) . I'm just very happy to be back. The time with family and friends was priceless. My wife and I were talking last night, and even though it cost us a lot of money being out of work for so long, it was more than worth it seeing our family, friends and community come together to help everyone out. Thanks again to all of you that were thinking about us and praying for us. Matt |

Hey Matt great to have you back ....
Sounds like quite an "adventure" .... when things like this happen I often wonder how people 100+ years ago survived when we take things like heat, electricity , TV etc. for granted .... Glad everything has worked out ok in the end ... ron |
