Okay,I feel compelled to post a few observations about what has been going on regarding group breaks.
1. Give your break time to develop. Don't pull the plug on the break after 12 hours if there are only a hand full of participants. Allow a few days for people to see your thread, digest the rules, and make sure they can swing it financially. 2. Make sure you have the rules set beforehand for the most part. Making major changes in price/procedure after the initial post makes people think twice about participating. 3. If you are new, you probably will not get a very big response from the majority of the board. It's nothing against you personally, just the way it has to be in today's world of scam artists. People work hard for their money, and want to mak sure they at least have some idea of who they are sending it to. Hang around for awhile, contribute to the board with intelligent input, and you will get a more favorable response when you propose a case break. 4. Don't have multiple case breaks of the same product going at the same time. Wait until GUYA has all his slots full before you start a second break of the same stuff. This makes it less confusing when trying to keep track of which SPA break someone is in. By no means should you let this discourage you from trying, just some stuff to think about. |

I have been lurking for a little bit and watching what has been going on before getting into my first break. I agree with all the points made above. One thing I would like to add is it seems that some of the participants in certain breaks aren't members of this forum. That is the host is getting participants from somewhere else, maybe running the break for two different forums. For some reason this makes me a little nervous. Do you agree, or am I just being paranoid?
Hats off to the senior members for policing and making sure everything goes smoothly. Everything seems to run pretty smoothly. It would be nice to have an official moderator to watch over every thing. It would also be nice to have a sticky thread with a loose set of guidelines(similar to what ups wrote) that people could adhere to before starting to solicit a break. Thoughts? |

Pat does the moderating on the board! But perhaps that there should be another moderator because, as much as he would like to be, cannot be on this board all of the time. We do try to police the board as much as possible, to protect not only ourselves, but newcomers that want to participate openly in the boards, too! Not much gets past us!
