Anyone know if this shop is any good? I've been looking for a good shop here in Chicago but the last 2 I went to were terrible

funny that you should mention them...I have not liked the store at all...poor selection on unopened wax, store open at weird hrs or not at the times it is posted...never gotten a big hit there (so maybe a little biased)...but just have not liked the store, which is a shame, because the location was great when it was graf cards...

anyway, I drive by it all the time on my way home from work and I will admit, I will stop every once in a blue moon for a card fix, but when I drove by today, there was a small sign in the window and all the window displays and signs were down...I didn't stop to check what the little sign said, but from just driving by, its looks like its closing down...so call before you go just in case...

sad to say, after graf cards closed down I found an awesome new shop...davaes dugout, but it was only open a couple more years and closed down january 2011...I have yet to find a good card shop since, some have recommended chicagoland sports (in buffalo grove), but I have yet to head out that way...I guess in a way, its a good thing, I have saved a ton of money in the last year and a half, not being able to give in to impulse buys

Okay. Thanks for the help. Maybe I'll check out Chicagoland sports as well. By the way, have you been to RBI sports cards and comics? It's a pretty good shop so if you haven't been there check it out, I didn't like it too much though

Elite Sportscards and Tim's are really close to each other in Lincoln Square but that's about it in Chicago. I've heard of good shops in the suburbs but I never get out that way.

I just found a new shop in Schaumburg called Baseline Inc.

Friendly shop that has a decent amount of product and supplies.

Tims sucks, its small and he says that the only stuff he has for sale are in the glass cases and its not even a lot of stuff. He has these boxes full of cards from like the 70s and 80s but doesnt want to sell them

Elite sports cards is okay but like tims shop its small and not much stuff for sale

RBI is closed, check out The Baseball Card King on 95th near the Metra station in Oak Lawn. They have one of the biggest selection of wax you'll see in the area, prices are ok for Chicagoland too.
