Down in south jersey I recommend swamilees. Just opened recently and is the first LCD owner I've come across that acknowledges Internet pricings and is comparable. Tons of singles and some nice odds and ends as well as wax

I thought I walked into an old basement when I went into Goldys.

Bobs Sportscards in Howell is the place.

so basically it looks like riverside sports, swamilees, evans, so south jersey is the place to be, and the shore has a few with bob's being the favorite.

It's funny you say that because it's very true. So many areas have one or none and we have quite a few with say 20 miles or so.

And each one caters to a different type of collector. I don't think Evan and I have 25% of our merchandise the same. We both carry supplies and new wax, but he carries high end autos and jerseys and such and I carry 50plus packs and 50plus wax boxes along with McFarlanes and huge selection of singles, some divided by player already.

He has a trade day, we have a games day.

Well worth stopping at each one if you ask my opinion (for what little that is worth!)

Good to know. I know Dave in riverside has an auction day every Thursday which is pretty popular too. Best wax prices I have seen although not as much volume as some other stores.

I think it's great when card shop owners are aware of eBay and forums and really know how to price things to sell.

Have you been over to see us at SwamiLee's yet?

Up until mid-August, our prices were within a dollar or 2 and often cheaper than online (we use the same markup on everything. We didn't gouge products like Topps 2 & Archives). Things changed when the online dumping started. But we feel we're very competitive with other LCS.

Our next Extravaganza is march 1st from 10-2. you should stop by.

I have been there and it was a few years back so I'm not sure if it is still open. It was a lot of vintage baseball singles and a few scattered boxes. I'd imagine that is a Beckett price store.

This place is mostly overpriced vintage. Their wax selection is limited and way overpriced. I live nearby and only go in for supplies.

My favorite places two minutes from my house is The Hobby Shop in Aberdeen. If you have a family this place is perfect it has a card shop and other areas for the family to visit. His prices on wax are reasonable although he charges book value for single. He also has an insane discount box pile with stuff like 14 topps and bowman chrome for 60 bucks and black diamond for 80 bucks all decent prices. I also like the fact that he can also get me different autographs if you just ask him. I wanted a nice Ralph Branca Bobby Thompson Dual signed eight by ten got the exact one I wanted Authenticated and in framed for under 100 bucks

and in Belmar

Sportsnut cards. I have known Ted for over 10 years and he is not only a good person. He has amazing discount single boxes and he is very helpful when you need a specific item. I asked him to get my sister a Tino Martinez eight by ten for Christmas it was Steiner Certified and in great condition within a reasonable price.

Im def gonna have to visit your shop!

Others I recommend

Banker Bill (already mentioned on page 1): Sets up at the Wildwood card shows and offers great prices on packs and boxes.

Layton Sports Cards: One of the best online breakers in the industry but I do prefer some BO hosts! (Nordy + Houdini)

Another shop near Ocean City I can't quite think of the name. Specializes in fan/memorabilia stuff also has a good selection of singles and wax!
