06/07 The Cup Box Break

I recieved my 06/07 The Cup that I purchased from Blowout Cards today and had some nice pulls. Here is the break down

1) Jari Kurri Base #'ed 187/249
2) Karri Ramo Auto Rookie Patch #'ed 091/249
3) Jari Kurri (AGAIN??) Signature Patches 3 color #'ed 65/75
4) Sergei Fedorov Gold Patch 3 color #'ed 03/10
and last but not least............
5) Alexander Ovechkin Foundations Quad Patch #'ed 07/10(why not 08/10 I do not know) It is an awesome card though UL(3 clr), UR(3 clr) multi break, LL(3 clr), LR(2 clr) mult break

pretty sweet pull was that the top card from just a box or an entire case?

I just bought the one box from Blowout Cards and it was the bottom card of the pack. It was a nice finish to a otherwise ok break. SICK PATCH!!!

I would suspect it may pull 500 or there abouts in an on line auction.......being a DC show dealer I would put it out for about $800 in my showcase if it were mine and "hope" to get $650 in "cash" (not a trade) for it......the fact that no body has the stones to price these cards is really a shame........it is a beauty but on the other hand- UD could have made 4 really sweet auto patches outta those 4 swatches and made 4 times as many folks very happy......... a lot of folks I deal with of course collect AO but most if not all of them are very thrifty......I would get a whole ton of lookers at my show in a month but hardly a serious, legitimate offer........

Do you think that it would be a good idea to throw it up on ebay @ BIN for $800 with an OBO? A Jordan Staal just went for $215 but the patches weren't that great. What do you think?

it is your card you can do as you choose- I am not a big fan of the BIN and you get low ballers with the OBO. I would but it up for 99cents and then let the free market dictate the price...........but as discussed here many times, timing is everything. I would let AO get rolling- had an assist last night. Might wait a few weeks for optimum exposure before posting, good luck........

$800 is way over priced...its not auto'd...a sid the kid quad (all 1 color) but autographed /10 out of ud the cup is only doing 400$ with 1 day left....$300 would be in the right price range...nice pull

Sorry, but there's no way your going to get near $500-$800 for that card!
It's not even autographed!! Yes, it's a very nice patch, but you can pick up his true rookie auto patches for that price.

06-07 ud the cup ovechkin jumbo 4 color patch autograph /50 went for $163

That Crosby auto is just a jersey not a patch. I'd be happy with $300-450. I can get myself another Tin of The Cup.....lol

It will go for what it goes for. I was just putting a feeler out there. I've already got one offer for it but it is still early in the auction. not sure if I want to take it or not yet.

My Card just went for my BIN price this morning on the bay for $800 and it has already been paid for. Its unfortunate that with Ebay & Paypal Fees that I will lose $50-$100. Any suggestions on how I should ship this card to Canada to not have any problems. Should I send it registered on my dollar Since i've profited on the card? Any advice will be considered.

Global Priority - it's like 9.00 and doesn't go thru the hassle that registered does. Other suggestion might be UPS or Fed Ex as it is trackable, but you need the customer's phone number.

I THINK ITS GREAT THAT YOU GOT WHAT YOU DID FOR THAT CARD BUT THATS ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE FLEABAY HEADSCRATCHERS. I DON'T THINK YOU CAN SAY STACEY WAS WRONG IN ASSUMING THAT WOULDN'T HAPPEN BECAUSE THE MARKET TRENDS CLEARLY SUPPORT HIS THINKING. OVIE'S 05-06 CUP AUTO'D 2-3 COLOR PATCHES (NOT THE RCs BUT THE INSERTS) GO FOR WELL UNDER $300. CONGRATS, YOU GOT VERY LUCKY WITH THAT ONE.

Thanks. Someone just threw up the AO quad patch #'ed 08/10 on the bay. The patches are no where near as nice as my 07/10. Check it out and what do you guys think? The seller also took a crappy blurry picture as well. (Sorry if the seller is reading this post)....lol

I guess there's a few people out there that need to lay off the crack.
Anybody that pays $800 for a patch card either has done to much crack, or needs to start smoking it!
You could pick up (2) Sidney Crosby AUTO patch cards for that price.
Guess maybe some people just have to much money

I'll agree with you, but I can't help but point out the flip side of what you're saying. Perhaps $800 for this patch card is the right price, (obviously if someone is willing to pay for it), and those people selling the Sidney Crosby AUTO patches are way underpricing them. Perhaps sellers are shooting themselves in the foot.

It's hard to understand one's emotions when you're trying to read them via email or internet. It sounds as if I have upset you. If so, I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to do that. I was just trying to openly shed light on another side of the coin.

A card is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, OR what the available price currently is albeit high or low. Supply vs. demand. If sellers would all sell their cards, (and I know this will never be done, but humor my theory), at a given price that's not low, collectors would either have to pay these higher prices, bust lots of product to find the cards themselves, or stop collecting. I would assume that the higher prices would be paid.

There are a lot more stories out there of buyers saying, "man, I got a GREAT deal today" as apposed to sellers saying, "man, I sold that card for a LOT more than I thought I would". As a collector, I'm happy the market is the way it is. As a seller, I would think things are going to need to change, or there is going to be less and less sellers. How often do we hear the discouragement of sellers on this very board? And then again, how often do we hear from someone that found a great buy?

i wouldnt pay over 200$ for it if I could get a jumbo patch auto of ovechkin #d to 40 more than the quad patch for $163...but thats just me...but also saying there are only 10 made and chances of another one popping on ebay is slim to none (even though the #08/10 is up now), i can see someone paying $800 for it because they really need it for their set or are a big fan
