05-06 or 06-07 the Cup?

I think that there was a discussion about this a week or two ago, but what do you think that I should get, 2 of 05-06 or 3 of 06-07?

That was my thread. I was trying to decide between the two myself. I went with 2 tins of 06/07 over 1 tin of 05/06. I see you that you are thinking of going either 2 05/06 or 3 06/07. If I had the money for either of you selections I would go for the 2 05/06 tins because your odds are better than mine were with choosing the 1 tin. Just my pennies! Either way I hope you hit a crosby!!!(preferably from 05/06

Yeah, it might be a while on that! I got an offer for a 4 color The Cup Stastny card about 500 bucks below book value, so I might take it! I might get it graded and sell it, too! I don't know! I have to make my mind up soon!

Id go with 3 - 06/07 UD the Cup Tins...there are too many crappy rookie patch autos in 05/06...ya you have a chance at hitting a crosby auto patch rc /99 in 05/06 but so far in 5-6 tins of 06/07 ud the cup hockey for me I havent hit 1 auto patch rc /99....but I do like it b/c there are some /249 auto patch rookies that are starting to heat up (ie Byfullgin(sp?), Ramo, Backstrom, etc.) plus the odds of getting a auto patch of crosby like me

You are funny. I've busted 8-12 tins of 06/07 the cup and didn't hit a auto patch RC #/99. But I got some nice low #'ed patch cards/auto's!!!

Fellas I am just thinking you might want to keep your powder dry for 07-08 the Cup hockey. This years Rookie class is looking pretty decent and imagine if Price gets the Habs deep into the playoffs or does what Roy did in 86, the Hawks actually make the playoffs and you know a there is a sleeper in this class somewhere. Right now that is my plan just hope UD gets this product out prior to late July or August.........

Yeah....I can think of about $1500$ good reasons why it would be a good one to have.

That may be conservative. The goaltender in Montreal = the starting QB in Dallas. A nice 3 color patch could be a $3500-4000 card, especially if its just numbered to 99.

Backstrom should be a $1500+ card too.

Yeppers, Doing a blowout video break( and it will be better than my 06-07 case break. I expect the shipment on Friday, so I'll rip it on Saturday Morning. Something tells me that I am going to be either really happy, or really upset!!!! Hopefully really happy!!!!

Hopefully I score some cool cards. Do you know how many NHL Shields are still available in that year. I know the Crosby/lemieux is gone, but to get another one would be awesome. I've wanted to buy one of these for a long time, let's see how I do!

I just calculated my chances of pulling a Crosby, Ovechkin, or Phaneuf...let's just say that it's under two percent.

78 level 2 cards....(78*199)
3 level 1 cards...(3*99)
15819 total RC patch autos in set
assuming that 1 RC auto is each box:

297/15819= 1.9% chance of pulling level 1 RC patch auto.....maybe lady luck will be on my side!

That's ok, I did that at my local card shop, too. There were 2 boxes of 06-7 the cup on the shelf, another guy bought one and cracked it in shop....he didn't get much. The best thing he got was a Stanley cup Signatures Nicklas Lidstrom. I immediately went up to the counter, bought the final box and pulled the redemption for Alexander Radulov (which turned out be a 4 color patch auto) and a Cup Foundations Patrick Roy Jersey card /25 (I think).

Best part about that was that my girlfriend was with me and I looked her dead in the eye and told her I don't care if you're going to be mad about this, I am doing it anyways. Good thing it turned out the way it did or I was going to hear it!
